We hired Eric and Mae to help us reimagine our landscaping and yard (front, back, sides) in their entirety. We interviewed a number of landscape architect professionals, but most simply put to paper with what we asked for--but what we really wanted was someone who would bring clever ideas to us. That's exactly what Eric brings to any project. He took our concept and brought it to life adding in elements we would have never thought of on our own. We have a pie-shaped lot at the end of a cul-de-sac which is wonderful for privacy but makes landscape design very difficult and complex because of the odd angles and zoning. Despite these constraints, Eric was able to fit in all of the elements we wanted including a new larger patio, pool with spa, covered dining area, outdoor kitchen, outdoor bar and TV area, fire pit, deck area, new wider driveway, bike storage, outdoor shower and turf play area. He also brings in absolutely incredible attention to detail and taste. From big decisions like the orientation of our pool to small details like lighting on patio steps or the placement and types of drains in the patio, Eric is all over every detail. His attention to detail makes working with other contractors (ie hardscaping contractors, GCs, designers, pool installer, etc) significantly easier because he has thought everything through and all the details are present in his plans. At our request, he was willing to attend meetings during the contractor selection process and also submitted all paperwork to the city for permits. He has handled any questions that required additional follow-up from all parties and always in a timely manner. Due to Eric's approach and attention to detail in putting in so much work upfront, his projects are more likely to stay on budget and on timeline with minimal work order changes down the line. We're absolutely thrilled with where we landed on our design, plans and project. Eric and Mae are absolute professionals and a pleasure to work with. My wife and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

We were very happy with the landscape design Eric and Mae created for us. We found them easy to work with, creative, and attentive to our needs. While we are not yet done with the project, we were very satisfied with the final plans. We'd certainly work with them again!

Eric and Mae are a wonderful design team! I wanted to create a Filoli inspired urban garden to complement the historic remodel we were finishing in downtown Palo Alto. Eric and Mae listened patiently to my ideas, reviewed the inspirational photos I had gathered, and thoughtfully brought a plan to life that surpassed my expectations. We had the incredible opportunity and pleasure to work with Eric and Mae on designing our dream backyard and ADU. Eric and Mae are true professionals and really, really, really good at what they do. Choosing a landscape designer during the height of the pandemic (when everyone was redoing their backyards) wasn't easy. But from the first meeting we had with Eric and Mae, we knew right away that we wanted to work with them. As this was the first experience we had in working with a designer and doing any major home improvement work, we were quite anxious and unsure of what to expect. Eric and Mae were extremely patient with us as we navigated through the process of designing our yard, which included a swimming pool, ADU, deck, and lawn area. The end result was a modern, clean, beautiful, and detailed design that we were so happy with. There were a few things in particular that really impressed us in working with Eric and Mae. First off, they are a great team (husband and wife) who really take the time to discuss and brainstorm design ideas together. Second, they really think outside of the box when coming up with design ideas and layouts, which we really appreciated. Third, they are just so easy to work with. Quick to respond, friendly, fun, and very open to taking feedback on ideas. And finally, the thing that really stands out, is their great attention to detail (and as we found out it's all those little details that really count). We highly recommend Eric and Mae of Greenblott Design. They helped us redesign our backyard including an ADU, outdoor kitchen, firepit, water feature, and landscaping. The amount of thoughtful care they put into every inch of the design process and execution was amazing. We LOVE working with Eric and Mae. And most importantly - their design, execution, and partnership are 5 stars! As background, we hired Greenblott design to reimagine our outdoor space (1+ acre). We then worked with them on a master design and then three phases of execution. Our plan grew to include an outdoor kitchen/BBQ; outdoor shower and enclosed bathroom; landscaping; fireplace; garden/fruit tree area; golf putting green, construction of custom pergolas; lighting; full irrigation plan to be more drought tolerant, and furniture sourcing and placement. We loved working with them. They listened deeply to our ideas and knew how to step in when they saw a better way. The best example was creating a glass covered outdoor pergola for a table that kept our space looking open/bright while still providing cover from the weather. It's now a year-round space that we use so much more. On execution, they notice and care about every inch and blade of grass. The best example was finding the exact right bricks to match our existing patio so the extension looks seamless with the 30+ year old existing bricks. With such a big investment of time and money, we were so happy to have them on our team to make it all worth it. It is!

We just finished the design process with Eric and Mae at Greenblott Design. Eric and Mae have been wonderful to work with. They were able to translate our original vision to a beautiful plan for our backyard redesign, help us think through and make decisions on key tradeoffs, and develop a design aesthetic that enhances our existing home. Eric and Mae were very patient as we went through several design iterations and helped guide us along the way. We have completed the design phase and Eric and Mae are now us navigate the multiple contractors and approvals that will be needed for installation. We hired Eric & Mae to create a design for every inch of our quarter-acre lot, and we could not have been more impressed with the design. They were able to beautifully design a pool, an outdoor kitchen, a bocce ball court, an integrated spot for our ping pong table, a bike shed, general storage as well as trash container storage, all which complimented our modern home. They also came up with creative shade solutions that we never would have thought of. They are very communicative and thoughtful, and they pay attention to every detail. They were also very patient and understanding when our plans shifted. This was our first landscape design project, and we never would have known where to start without them. They guided us through concept to design to the start of construction, explaining very clearly what we needed to do at each step. Would highly recommend Greenblott Design!
