You don't mention the age and style of your current windows, but if they are wood, I'd recommend starting with these preservation briefs.

I'm sorry I'm no help on a list for standards, but I just wanted to say that we've had windows replaced in 4 houses and have never had a standard size window. :)

I'm thinking the ones at HD and Lowes are probably standard sizes...perhaps that might help?

If you are talking about vinyl replacement windows, or actually any repacement windows, there really isn't any standard sizing. Standard sizing is normally found only in new construction.

By standard window sizes, we are saying window sizes that fits most of the openings of most buildings. To turn it another words, you could be easier to get them in most of windows manufacturers, not only spend more money to look for customized size windows. If your home is a new construction, most of windows are likely in standard sizes. Or you could check on our blogs of standard window sizes to check if your windows are in standard sizes. Hope this makes sense.
