If they were growing well that shouldn't be a problem. Are they in pots or were they dug up?

Thanks. They have been dug out. I dug a golden cane and cocos palm up and succesfully transplanted them before summer but they still had a few of the leaves on them.

Are you talking about the northern summer or the southern summer? Those both look like Golden Cane. If they were dug out of a clump, that is separated out of a clump, you could have difficulties. There'd be major root damage. What was the root system like when you planted them? What sort of climate are you in?

I thought these were bangalow? They weren’t in a clump, just single palms. Root ball was the same size as the other ones I transplanted. Maybe 30cm long. And 30cm wide. its mid 20s every dad slowly getting colder coming into winter.

Okay, I'm near Darwin. Earlier you mentioned you transplanted Golden Cane and Queen palms. In your photo neither of those look like Queens so assumed they were the Golden Canes. For the future, when moving larger palms it's a good idea to dig a trench around them then give them time to heal a bit before cutting through underneath. It greatly increases survival rate.

That said, you can still get surprising results with less preparation. I moved a 3 metre Livistona palm that had fallen from erosion. Most of the roots had snapped off so negligible root ball. Put a hose up top and trickled water down the trunk for a couple of months. It took a few years to develop a full canopy, but it worked.
