Garden slug tip

Slugs come out and go up when it is raining. Yesterday I checked my garden and killed aprox 200 in 15 minutes. I easily found many on the side and top of my raised bed wood and especially on rocks and 12x12 pavers I used as stepping stones to cross rows easily.

Point is on rainy days take a quick peek!

I just did it again and got aprox 150. I have a slug problem!

That's a lot of slugs!

I always heard that slugs hate onions chives etc. They eat the heck out of my leaks and occasionally garlic so I do not buy into those items. Sluggo helps and hand picking at peak times also helps. By far the worst time is when things first emerge and one slug can kills 5 sprouts a night.

Sluggo is terrific stuff, as is the off-brand knock-off from the big box.
