Add a built in on the right to center the fireplace again or go with an asymmetrical more modern design.

I am in a similar tough situation. Our fireplace is almost all the way to the right. We are so confused what to do on how to balance this wall out with a flat screen tv? :(

I would put a flat screen above the mantle and open the wall to the left more towards the fireplace. Bring the wall out from the left corner of the opening to center it more which would separate the dining room more into its own space. Build a double arched header to separate the dining from the family and add a couple of columns. It appears that area was originally set up for some kind of dining area because the lighting in the ceiling supports it.

I believe your off set would be a little easier to tackle with some simple plantings of a larger scale or maybe even a corner cabinet with a family photo area a chair and a reading lamp possibly. I would even think wainscoting across the wall and a painted mural around the fireplace would be cool, Maybe a trompe loeil architectural detail around the fireplace.
