kurloon, I think Katy is politely saying that her family is ignoring her requests to clean up after themselves. When an adult knows which side the disposal is on and they don't use it, a different sink design isn't going to fix the issue. Katy, I feel for you...

Katy Jordan- I have seen cutting boards that fit over sinks (or half the sink for the double sink you have) in motorhomes, etc. If your family can't/won't figure out the disposal thing, maybe block off the non-disposal side of the sink? Bet they will be stymied by the cutting board, too. In any event, you seem to be taking all in your stride...a great example of patience.
