After reading this, I definitely agree that toilet should always be placed at the right location if it is attached with the bathroom. 2 months ago, when i renovated my bathroom with shower screens installed by Seaton Glass, they suggested me to relocate the toilet 2 metres away from the bathing area, so as to give the bathing area a proper space for the shower screens and in case of any renovation in the future. They suggested me a similar design to what is on the image above.

How would narrow bookshelves look in a bathroom?

@Sherry - do you mean built-in or a piece of furniture? I think others have done built-ins successfully; I would just keep the shelves waist/chest height or higher (i.e., not to the floor) and away from the sink/shower areas to avoid spatters. And of course there's the humidity factor. The pros would probably have some good tips here. But I'm sure there's a pic or two on Houzz of a bookshelf next to the toilet :).
