@Barbara Wynd, it has to do with resale value. What G.Christianson said is true in every place in the US that I am familiar with: when selling a home you cannot list a room as a bedroom if it has no closet.

I use a wardrobe (armoire) fitted with shelves for my folded clothing. But I don’t like them for hanging clothes. Too limited in space, and often too short. The nicest wardrobes I’ve encountered in European countries (Europe is, of course, not one place) are floor-to-ceiling, semi-built-ins with sliding or fan-fold doors...often in something luxe like milky, laminated glass. They are essentially closets, in all but name.

Wonderful build! Wish more folks would consider limiting the size of their rooms and having each do double duty. Doing away with McMansions would greatly help our planet and teach our children something at the same time.
