I'm looking for Vicostone as it appears so nice online and can't find it in New England. Has anyone?

Has anyone ever used Daltile Staturio - a quartz product that looks identical to marble. Do you love it? photo please?

Glad you like the kitchen. Will get back to you on the edge detail. A very durable (strong) sealer will probably need to be applied by a professional. I would call your local slab or tile showroom and ask them who they recommend. The sealer will probably not need to be applied more than once or twice per year, if that. I am not aware of a granite that will have the look or feel of Cararra. All the best.

Could you please tell me who made the kitchen window over the sink, I want this window made but can't find anyone that can make it. Are the grads made out of of wood or vinyl? Does the backside look the same? What are the measurements? Really hope you can help me I LOVE THIS Window! Thanks
    Andrea.

I don't think it is very expensive per se, but marble slabs are thinner than granite so it has to be be built up to a certain thickness to look good. Extra labor and extra material.

    Granite Grannies

It's not expensive in terms of granite. Usually at the lower price end of natural stone. It does come in exactly the same thickness as granite, so you can of course install a 3cm slab without doing a laminated (built up) edge.

If properly sealed and spills are wiped up in a reasonable amount of time, stains can be prevented, if not, greatly reduced. The sealer's job is to allow liquids to bead up providing a window of time to wipe the liquid off ; if spilled material is left overnight, it could stain.

The issue with marble/travertine/limestone -- any material that contains calcite -- is not so much staining as it is etching from anything acidic. There is no sealer that prevents against etching. Most fabricators and stone retailers will advise honing the marble, etc. since etching is less visible than with a polished surface, but... honing removes some degree of protection that is inherent in polishing the stone making honed surfaces somewhat more susceptible to etching.. tradeoffs :)

The backsplash tile is by Anne Sacks and it is the Carrara Marble as per the green tag in the pic!!

It looks like possibly the smaller side sections are casement windows. I can maybe see a small folded crank on the bottom of the right skinny section.
  • PRO
    Danenberg Design
Yes, I can see that as well. However, it may be just the photographer's lighting bouncing off of the casement. Not sure if there is a crank.

Can you help with how you would describe cabinet door or have a non custom door style to describe it. I love them and would like to have something look very similar

I would print out the photo and ask the manufacturer you are working with to give you an idea as to how they would match it as closely as possible. You could also email the photo to them. All the best.

These look like the Schaub & Co. Versailles pull with the backplate on the drawers and the Versailles knob and backplate on the cabinets above in the antique light polish.
  • charon70
The cabinet hardware is definitely Schaub & Company Versailles Collection. I am buying the same for my cabinets.

Thanks for writing! This project was done a number of years ago in Belvedere, CA. At the time, Studio Becker cabinet company was offering this line from England. They no longer offer it and I'm afraid I'm unable to direct you at this point. All the best.

Countertop - can you specify what the countertop is? Is it carrara marble or a quartz? Thanks!

Show the picture to your fabricator and they can easily duplicate it. I think that is an ogee edge.

  • Christina Welch

What brand of windows are shown here? Would love to replicate in my remodel. Love the placement and dimensions!

Doesn't BM's Decorators White have a lot of pink in it? This seems whiter to me.

Hi Diana, I wish I could help, but this project was done several years ago and our records are archived. It was a multi-million dollar home and many of the features were completely custom. Thanks!

I am afraid that I don't know. This was a 'spec' home built by a developer for resale. We designed the kitchen and custom closets for the home. All the best.

This is a very custom edge and the overall thickness is about 2 - 1/4". The project was completed a number of years ago. We seem to recall that Fox Marble in the Bay Area fabricated this for the client, but are not certain.

at either end of the L. however, use caution if thinking about a side by side because if it placed in a corner there won't be enough room to swing the door open and slide out shelves. hope this helps.

Even in some smaller spaces, you can fit a L-shaped kitchen, small island and prep sink. No seating at this island, but I'm sure having that extra sink more than makes up for it in the cook's eyes!
