Lake Oswego Custom HomeTransitional Kitchen, Portland

This spacious kitchen with beautiful views features a prefinished cherry flooring with a very dark stain. We custom made the white shaker cabinets and paired them with a rich brown quartz composite countertop. A slate blue glass subway tile adorns the backsplash. We fitted the kitchen with a stainless steel apron sink. The same white and brown color palette has been used for the island. We also equipped the island area with modern pendant lighting and bar stools for seating.

Project by Portland interior design studio Jenni Leasia Interior Design. Also serving Lake Oswego, West Linn, Vancouver, Sherwood, Camas, Oregon City, Beaverton, and the whole of Greater Portland.

I'm building a house and don't know what gloss type to do on my white cabinets. The builder wrote semi gloss bc he usually just does matte which I think would be a bad idea. These have the look I want..do you know what gloss they are? Thank you!!
  • Yasmín
Could they be considered "shaker?" Is that the term? I'm about to undergo a kitchen reno and am considering a look similar to his but hoping to not have to go custom because of time. Thank you!!

What color grout do you recommend for glass tiles and color in particular?
  • PRO
    Jenni Leasia Interior Design
We match the grout color as closely as possible to the glass tile color. We don't always do this with ceramic or porcelain tile, but we do with glass.

Do love this kitchen! Did you have to custom mix the gloss and matte tiles, I asked one of the suppliers of this tile and they said the don't have mixed sheets of the 2x4, you can only get either gloss or matte. If custom mix any advice on how?

Yes. We created the mix ourselves.

The proportions of the sticking, tight reveals, flush trim and a bit of frosted glass create a compelling composition. The white cabs w/ medium toned countertops is striking a good balance, but the floor is too dark.
