Large elegant medium tone wood floor eat-in kitchen photo in Chicago with shaker cabinets, white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and an island

Two Time Award Winning KitchenTraditional Kitchen, Chicago

Normandy Designer Vince Weber, worked closely with the homeowners to create an open and spacious floorplan with timeless beauty and appeal. “The existing kitchen was isolated from the rest of the house,” says Weber. “One of the redesign goals of the homeowners was to tie the kitchen with the living room to create a ‘living kitchen’ that would function as the central gathering space for the family.” The resulting design paired timeless colors and classic inset cabinetry to give the kitchen a casual elegance. The island was designed to feel like a furniture piece, which creates a visual divide between functioning kitchen, and the informal eating and living space. The light fixtures were originally from Lightology, although I'm not certain that exact model is still available. The table was custom made for the homeowner and the space.

We did some research in our files, but unfortunately found that these chairs were purchased by the homeowner and we do not know the manufacturer. I'm very sorry that we were unable to provide the information you were seeking and hope that you will be able to find some similar chairs that will suit your needs.

Are you looking for a trestle table to fit in a nook as well? If so, check out lakeandmountainhome.com. They have several styles that would work well with banquette seating.

Glad you like the seating area! The windows do not extend below the bench and the exterior simply continues the brick from the rest of the home. From the exterior it looks just like the continuation of the wall with 3 windows grouped together. Hope this helps!

These light fixtures were originally purchased from Lightology, however they may no longer be available from that supplier. Several other people have previously asked about these fixtures as well, and another Houzzer suggested checking Gracious Home or Juliska for something similar. Good luck!

I think I found these pendants on Juliska called Column pendant from their Florence Collection. If they aren't the same then they are very close.

Pillows can be a great way to bring color and texture into your space. Homeowners we've worked with are somewhat split on whether or not to add tailored cushions (I've attached images of both) to their breakfast nooks.

When selecting pillows, you may want to consider not only what colors you want to bring into the space, but the size that would be appropriate as well as the durability of the fabrics that may need a good cleaning once in a while.

Good luck finding something for your seating area!

Would Normandy create a custom banquette for a nearly complete home?

    Normandy Remodeling

Hi Joshua, thanks for your question! Our company is a full service design build firm, and as such we do undertake fairly large and more complex projects, such as a full gut interior remodel or addition, that require design work, architectural blueprints, permits and many different skilled tradespeople. If you're looking for a custom banquette such as this, you may be able to find either a skilled finish carpenter, or perhaps a local millwork company that would be able to create something similar for your home. Best of luck for a successful build!
