We are completely in love with our renovated home, and it truly would not have been possible without Gary. Could not have asked for a better partner - I'm convinced Gary is the absolute best modern architect in the state. And he helped guide us through the big picture and small details every step of the way - truly felt cared for. Here's a few things we love about working with Gary. 1. Vision and expertise: Gary took our 1950 ranch (non mid-century modern) and turned it into a modern, cozy, open mid-century inspired home with true character. 2. Communication: Gary is incredibly patient and thoughtful. He was a great communicator through the process - spending longer with us when making big decisions, and quick to pick up a text to take a look at a fixture color. We made changes to every single part of the home, and Gary helped make the process as easy as possible. 3. Pragmatic: Gary helped us keep our budget in mind by advising us on where to spend and where to save. He also really thought about our two small kids through the process, not just now, but as they grow. 4. But bold: To make the home really have an open flow, required some really big architectural and structural changes, including pitching the full ceiling, knocking down walls, and putting a tiled fireplace and staircase in the middle of the home. Gary helped us see what was possible! 5. Design sensibility: It was hard for us being new to New Jersey to find an architect who had the same design aesthetic we did - and I really, really looked. And it always came back to Gary. We didn't have an interior designer, and Gary always was happy to step in and look at the details with us. So thankful he took on this project with us!! 6. Planning: Gary helped us build a master plan for the house that gave us options - could do it all at once, or do it in phases, and helped us see the pros and cons of all the options. All in all, so so grateful to have worked with Gary and could not recommend more.

Gary was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He listened to our ideas and brought them to life in very creative ways. He was a great problem solver with respect to design and cost issues. Empathetic and respectful come to mind too. Working remotely was seamless.

If you’re investing in a renovation and want your money and energy to produce a WOW of great proportion, Gary is your person! Gary looks at space and details in a way that completely reimagines what is possible. He has a sensibility for joining comfort and beauty. He took our 35-year old modern house and converted it to a timeless space that grabs you when you enter and settles you into a warm space you don’t want to ever leave. As soon as we bought our mid century modern dream home, we reached out to Gary after reading a ton of glowing reviews about him. After meeting and walking through the home, we knew our search was over and Gary was the first architect we interviewed. My husband and I are very particular and we believed Gary would be exactly who we needed by our side. We did a major renovation on our home that included opening up our kitchen space, adding closets and rearranging a bathroom. We were very happy with Gary’s drawings and overall execution of our project. From the moment we started our project, Gary had a ton of ideas and was and expert in modern design. Gary is professional, punctual and genuinely a great person to work with. He’s extremely knowledgeable and really helped point us in the right direction. Gary was always available when we needed him and was flexible and we have three young kids so that was a plus! We always felt comfortable reaching out to Gary and we know that although our project is over, he’s still there if we need him- that is hard to find! I truly believe that the architect is the storyteller, who connects all the dots together so it was important for us to hire an architect who understood our needs for the space and our aesthetic. We worked with Gary on an extensive renovation of our house to come up with the design for an open floor plan, modern home that functioned well for the family of four. Gary was not only attentive and listened to us, but made some great recommendations about how to maximize the space. His design sensibility is great and attention to detail is outstanding. Great experience in all respects with Gary. In 2019 he helped us with just the exterior plan for a split-level reno and provided exactly what was needed, scaling to our small project size with no fuss. You already can see his style which obviously clicks for us but just as appreciated was the smooth execution and communication. If you are looking for an architect with unparalleled attention to detail and the patience of a Jedi knight, you really cannot do better than Gary Rosard. We hired his firm in the fall of 2018 to help us renovate a recently purchased mid-century modern home that was in need of some drastic updating to its kitchen, bathrooms and layout. Gary was always responsive, always thorough and always wanting to get the job done to perfection. Most importantly, he always listened to us and worked to understand exactly what our needs were. After understanding what we wanted, he was a tireless advocate on our behalf (w/tradespeople, subcontractors, etc). We cannot recommend Gary highly enough.

The first question Gary asked me is “what do you want your guests feel when they come to your house.” I know I found the right architect as he cares the artistic side of his work. I had worked 6 months with another architect before I found Gary. Gary knew exactly what I want for the project only after a few minutes talk. Visiting his projects convinced me that he is the right one as his works speak very high on his design. So I fired the other one and worked with him, which was the turning point of my project. We rebuilt our house and turned this 1950 split level to a modern one inside and out. Gary not only did architecture design, but also interior design. I cannot say enough good things about him, easy communication, efficient work processing, great taste, good understanding of clients’ needs, thoughtful planning on budget and schedule, and honest pricing. He took the greatest pride and care in our project, nurtured it as if it was his own and demonstrated such professionalism and confidence that cannot be found elsewhere. He made my project so much easier than I thought. What almost seemed like an impossible task was turned into possible by him.

We looked at a variety of architects in preparation for our major addition. It was clearly evident after our first meeting that Gary’s aesthetic is what we were looking for to build our modern space. We commissioned Gary with coming up with a multi phase plan that could be executed over time. Gary met with us several times to discuss what we wanted out of this space even before showing us any renditions. He was very patient and diligent in answering all of our questions. The design he came up with was modern, open and more importantly blended in perfectly with existing house and the natural surrounding. We were impressed with his attention to detail in his design and site visits. He was very calm, understanding and professional through the numerous changes we requested. What became evident is that he is not only a great architect but also has a keen sense of interior design. Another great benefit of using Gary is the numerous connections and contractors we were able to use. I would highly recommend Gary on any project, big or small.

We used Gary Rosard for a complete house renovation and to build a garage. He was a pleasure to work with on the project. The one thing that set him apart from other architects was his background in design. He was able to take quirky spaces and make them part of a theme, in our case "homey." If you avail yourself of his services take full advantage of his sense of color. The contractor on the project copied the color scheme for his own home. The best thing about him is there is no drama. He did what he promised when he promised it. He had never worked with the contractor before but he made sure to get along throughout the entire project. I personally have no sense for color or space, he made the project as painless as possible. I can wholeheartedly recommend his services. Tell him how you envision the project and he will get you there.

We first worked with Gary back in 2015 to convert a bedroom space into a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a bedroom. Given the space we had, we knew it was going to be difficult especially since we did not want to lose our bedroom space. Gary came up with an elegant design (including an “aha” moment) and the results speak for themselves. The cool thing about Gary is that he is an architect and an interior designer with a very personal touch. He made multiple trips during construction suggesting changes when necessary and providing clarification. We set out to shop for most of the materials but when it came to tiles, multiple trips did not help. We had Gary accompany us once and the tile selection was done in a jiffy. We had a couple of contractors (roofing and general) working concurrently and they would often compliment Gary on his attention to detail. Well, we agree with that as well. 2016 was kitchen renovation time and our choice for an architect was a no-brainer. This time a kitchen and a dining room was being converted to an open kitchen. No surprise here but Gary came through big time. The design was great and Gary even recommended a kitchen cabinet guy who was great as well. We would work with the kitchen cabinet guy and Gary would then make a trip down to validate the design and the whole thing came together really nicely. We love our kitchen and our friends love it too. My wife’s co-worker recommended Gary to us and while doing so, told us that he was one of a kind. How right he was. As for recommending Gary, we have already been doing it verbally for a couple of years now, but for the record, ABSOLUTELY!!!
