Could not recommend John more! I interviewed 5-6 architects in Portland and none compared. John has an amazing attention to detail and supported us throughout the process of renovating our bathroom. He also gave the best price quote! John is extremely knowledgeable and gave us great options within our budget. He made the stressful process so much easier!

We have a 1920’s tudor-style home in Nashville with a 1920’s-style basement. The floor was a mix of dirt and rock and the original cedar posts were still in place supporting the structure. We knew we wanted to update the basement, but didn’t really know what we wanted to do. We met with John to walk through the space and talk about various ideas. John listened. He took time to ask us questions and helped us verbally-illustrate the goals of our initial design. At the same time, he was already thinking about natural light, flow through the rooms, and the structural feasibility. John provided models faster than expected that allowed us to further refine our design and accomplish our goals. We highly recommend John for any architect project.

Our experience working with John was one of great satisfaction. As my husband and I started discussing downsizing from the big family home to something smaller, one floor and the needs desired as we get older, we enlisted John to pull together plans for that vision when we retire. John’s work ethic is amazing and one that shows via the design he translates into workable plans. He is attentive, open and honest and we highly recommend him for your next project.

I connected with John to help restore our newly-purchased 1967 single-floor ranch cottage in Portland, OR. Even during our first interaction, John had a calm, approachable demeanor, and listen thoroughly to my design ideas. He followed through on listening with strong visualization through 3D renderings that made me feel as if I was standing in my home, before we even began construction. His realistic renderings helped us make some necessary design changes to improve the flow of the layout before investing in construction, which ended up being a massive cost-saving for us. Throughout the schematic design, design development, and construction documents phases, John had fantastic communication and was on time, even early, with his deliverables. We will 1000% utilize spacehouse's services again for our next home design project!
