Right from the beginning, I was glad we choose Edit Design Build Studio. Zoe and Ryan are great! Our 1980s townhouse was in desperate need for some updates (living room, kitchen, and stairway) and I had no idea where to start. Other than hiring a handyman for minor projects this was a really big project and was way out of my comfort zone. I sent out a few email inquiries, EDBS was the first one to respond and hands down the most helpful. We worked on setting a budget and went from there! Ryan and Zoe really do pay attention to everything you say - the first draft of the Design pretty much covered all our concerns/ideas. We just suggested minor changes based on our style preferences. Right before construction began, we rec'd a schedule and I have to say - we were either ahead a few days (or a week) or right on schedule, never behind. We rec'd weekly checkin/progress report emails every friday and Ryan was onsite every day to either work with a trades partner or working on a project of his own. From that first phone call in the beginning, we never felt forgotten. Zoe and Ryan are responsive, helpful, talented, organized, and just great people!

We are very happy with our experience working with Ryan and Zoe on our house project and with the results. We appreciate that there were clear expectations, timelines and transparency with every step of the process. Even when plans and processes needed to change, we were satisfied with how modifications were made and appreciated that their were instances where Edit Design Build would absorb a cost rather than always pass it onto us. Edit LLC designed and renovated our basement, creating a livable comfortable space with impeccable design and execution. The things we liked: they were creative in their design, up front in pricing and scheduling, and most impressively during this time of supply chain delays, they nailed the schedule and didn't miss a milestone. They worked with us during planning and around us during construction, we always felt informed and in good hands about what had to be done and what we had to decide. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome, it feels like our house doubled in size, and importantly for our 90-year old house, we know that the work got done the right way. Working with EDIT Design/Build Studio was amazing. We’ve done a handful of renovations in the past, working with different companies, and no one has come close in terms of quality of the work, professionalism, and overall experience. We really liked the working relationship we had with Ryan and Zoe. They compliment each other with technical knowledge and design sensibilities, and from the very beginning, we felt that we were entering a partnership with them. They treated our project as if it was their own. We received weekly updates that were thorough and helped keep us informed on progress. For example, they provided timely reminders of items we needed to do such as order appliances, select paint colors, etc. They were also responsive and always got back to us promptly when we had questions or concerns. We felt like we were their top priority. Something that made EDIT stand out was their integrity. They were always honest and transparent, and stuck to the schedule and budget throughout the entire project. There were no tricks or surprises, and they had reasonable solutions for the few challenges that came up during construction. The project was on time and on budget. Finally, the workmanship and quality of Zoe and Ryan’s work is simply beautiful. With an eye for great design and a meticulous attention to detail, they alway made sure the work was done the right way. This was important to us because while we knew our kitchen needed updating, we also wanted to ensure whatever we did stayed true the historic importance of our architect-designed 1924 home. Edit did a complete renovation of our main floor bathroom and added a full bathroom to our 1920s home. We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with our finished bathrooms and how smoothly the process went, especially during a difficult Covid year. Ryan and Zoe are professionals; they are creative, detail oriented, and organized. The renovation process started with a design consultation where they listened to our input, asked questions, and made recommendations. Ryan and Zoe then designed a plan with creative solutions to problem areas and presented a detailed budget and a timeline. And they stuck to it - there were no surprise costs and the project was finished on time. Weekly progress reports noting what had been accomplished and what to expect in the coming week kept us fully informed. Ryan and Zoe are easy to work with, responsive to questions and do quality work. We recommend them and would use them again.

We just finished our second project with Edit and, as before, had a great experience. Even coping with supply and subcontractor issues, Zoe and Ryan showed great attention to detail. Our second floor is great!

We were looking to add a room and expand the half bath to full on our main floor. Ryan and Zoe from Edit design met us in early Spring of 2020 and proceeded to design the new space. After multiple discussions we went with the option of adding a full basement and room to the house, we also added a mud room space to declutter out main living room entry way. They coordinated and planned teams, supplies and inspections for every step of exterior and interior work. All through the pandemic, the various crews and Ryan and Zoe themselves were on schedule, extremely approachable, willing to answer questions and address concerns . Our addition after completion looks like it was always there, seamless integration with the rest of the house, both indoors and outdoors. Edit Design Build Studio's experience, expertise and ability to plan and coordinate this project has been extremely invaluable to us.

We started the project by talking top Zoe and Ryan almost a year ago now. At the time we were interviewing other architects and contractors. We liked Edit's approach to executing the project and went with them. WE liked that Edit had both the architect and Contractor roles covered. (Our project was to put in an addition to our existing house - a bedroom and a bathroom with closet space and a mudroom) Once we signed the contract with them, the design process took a couple of months with a lot of back and forth. (the process was slower than usual because of the Pandemic). WE go quotes on a couple of options - with a Crawl space of a Full basement. After deciding on the plan, Zoe spent a couple of months scheduling the whole project which gave us to time to select the interior aspects. Even tho the schedule was fixed for just 2 of months, Zoe was on top of getting everything lined so work did not stop. Once the project started, thanks to good weather, there weren't any major obstacles and Ryan was present at the job site every day. We received weekly updates from Edit and the work planned for the following week. All the Subcontractors were excellent and professional. The project ended recently with the final inspection and passed with flying colors. I highly recommend Edit for a project of this scale.

Zoe and Ryan are high-class remodelers, and they make your house beautiful with their great advice and hard work.

Ryan and Zoe renovated my kitchen and basement and transformed a bedroom into a beautiful bathroom and walk in closet. They showed great attention to detail throughout the process, and they went the extra mile in providing advice on paint colors and finding a remnant countertop for us. I am very pleased with the final result. I would not hesitate to work with them again.

Edit remodeled our kitchen, family room, powder room, and full bath. We interviewed lots of design/build firms and knew we'd found the right people as soon as we met Ryan and Zoe. They have kids the same ages as ours, so they completely understood when I said my largest concern was how our family was going to live through the construction. They gave us a very detailed schedule of what would be happening when - and then they stuck to it! Ryan and Zoe made the design process easy, and the final product looks just like the drawings they provided. When issues came up during the construction process (which is inevitable no matter who you work with), they were always very responsive and quick to find a solution. Our refreshed spaces are so bright and lovely, and we're really loving living in our updated home. I especially love our new mudroom that they created by putting a half wall in our family room next to the back door - gorgeous and functional! It was truly a pleasure to work with Edit.

Edit remodeled our kitchen and finished the basement in our s. mpls house. Their work is outstanding. In the basement we have two bedrooms, a full bath, a living/entertainment room, plenty of storage, and a lot of light with four new egress windows. It's an amazing transformation. The kitchen is spacious, bright, and very functional. The tile work and cabinetry is beautiful. The back entrance was shifted to accommodate a new mudroom/laundry separated from the kitchen by a pocket door. We’re so happy with the new spaces and will enjoy them for many years. Ryan and Zoe are wonderful to work with. I’m grateful for the care and integrity they brought to this remodel. They’re thoughtful, responsive, and meticulous. Throughout the project they encouraged us to share our ideas and voice any concerns we had. It was reassuring to share that dialogue with them during the months-long—often stressful—process of remodeling an old house. They are fantastic, and have a gift for this. We recommend them without hesitation and hope to work with them again in the future.
