About Us

elements design.build is an all encompassing design firm which has a reputation for imaginative, distinctive design while keeping you in the picture. Becky Nemetchek, principle designer of elements design.build, has gained experience through a wide variety of avenues, all which contribute to a broad aesthetic and an expansive knowledge base. As well as a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of Manitoba, and 30 years of design experience, Becky’s design sense has developed through work in Theatre, Television, Special Events, Visual Art, Retail display, and many other creative avenues. Becky has also led large creative and construction teams, repeatedly completing projects on time and on budget. Creative inspiration for Becky comes though the patterns, colours, textures and shapes found in nature. She admires the 'honesty' of industrial spaces, and integrity of fine craftsmanship.

Stoneworks Paving

Working with Becky is always a pleasure, she has a great design sense and works well with clients. She also has a great understanding of building practices, which is rare among designers. Not only does she understand the design, but how it will be built and integrated into the space she is working with. Her drawings and specifications are top notch, clear and concise. On this job Becky designed a front yard hardscape plan that took advantage of existing landscape features to create a semi-private patio. A few carefully positioned segmental retaining walls and existing foliage created a fantastic patio that the clients love. Becky also visited the site several times during construction and was available to answer any questions that arose during construction.

Elements Design/ Build provided my husband and myself with a thorough project description re the renovation of our En-suite 3 piece bath. Outlined in the Design Contract was the design development ( plans, finishes, services, fixtures and millwork) along with the budget and work schedules, permits and construction and installation of design. Becky made several visits to our home with tile samples, catalogues of light and plumbing fixtures, paint swatches, etc. We never had to leave our home to search out items for this project. She was respectful of our budget. She coordinated this En-suite to match the rest of our home, especially our adjoining bedroom. We were very pleased with the final product.

Becky created a beautiful redesign of our exterior space including steps, patios, garage and driveway. Becky saw our project through from initial concepts, to permits and architectural drawings, to the selection of finishes and onsite project adjustments. Always realistic, reliable and available during our project. In my opinion it is always worth every penny to hire an accredited professional from the start of any home project. Modern touches with classic design will see our transformation through the decades to come.

Becky was very helpful coming up with ideas for a new bathroom in our basement. She was able to suggest the best ways to use the space by showing us where the fixtures should go. Additionally, she made recommendations about what kind of tub surround to get as well the best kind of finish plumbing. Very helpful!

This is our second MAJOR project working with ELEMENT design build. I enjoy every moment of decision making and having Becky guide me through the planning and design process. She seems to capture our goals, visions, ideas and budget all in the first stage... And then brings it to completion.

Carla and Doug are fabulous clients with impeccable taste and so easy to work with! This second project is the freshening of a house they have recently moved into. The home had El Paso vibe - not at all our clients' taste. To balanced the golden scheme we painted walls grey, installed some new flooring & counters, and added stainless-steel accents. New cabinetry, flooring, and bathroom will finish out the basement for this busy family with 3 very busy boys! Nearly finished. Pictures to follow!

Commented: Dresser into a vanity...now what? Finish the top w varnish or marble?Fantastic counter choice, though I might have considered a shade or two lighter, for a bit of contrast. A white sink will stand alone on a dark counter. I put solid surface in my own kitchen and LOVE...
