About Us

Akroyd is a small firm that designs + builds contemporary custom furniture from domestic hardwoods- complimented with steel, glass, stone and leather. Projects range in scale from sidetables to entire rooms of cabinetry. The studio was established in 1997 and serves local customers in the GTA and ships nationally + internationally.

Commented: Type of wood?All exterior components are Eastern Black Walnut with an oiled finish. The bed slats and internal elements are White Oak. We build these beds to suit, so it can also be built in other woods.
