We had an excellent homebuilding experience with Brad Bowman and Homes by Design. From the design process through the construction to the final inspection, the entire process was professionally done and enjoyable. We had the utmost trust in Brad, his team and his contractors. His knowledge of the smallest details of our build was impressive and continued to give us confidence in the Homes by Design team. The quality of the work and attention to detail was top notch. Brad became a friend during the process, and we still feel extremely comfortable reaching out to him and/or his contractors if we have questions or concerns regarding the house. We would highly recommend Brad and Homes by Design to anyone looking for a high quality custom home builder.

We built with Homes by Design a few years ago and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Our home turned out to be everything we wanted and more. Brad took the time to listen to the our ideas and how we live and designed the home with that in mind. He had so many great ideas to enhance our home that we would have never thought of. Most people find building a home to be unpleasant and stressful, but our experience with HBD was overwhelmingly positive! Like others who have built with HBD, we would definitely use them again and often recommend them to others who are looking for a builder.

We work with Homes by Design quite frequently, designing homes for their clients. Brad and his team are very conscientious and represent a high value proposition for all of their projects. Brad understands the "high-end" client very well and delivers an end product that represents a tremendous balance between aesthetic beauty, function, and cost. We don't worry about the end product when we turn one of our architectural designs over to Brad, as we know that it will ultimately get built the way we intended it - and perhaps even better.

Homes By Design was terrific to work with and I've recommended them many times. We used them when we remodeled an 1880 farmhouse, and put on a large addition. Since we were digging into a 120 year old building, our project gave plenty of surprises (nothing was level, weird wiring, etc), and we asked to do many things that would match the old to the new (for example we put in Rim Lock locks on the interior doors). Homes By Design was more than agreeable to some of our out of the normal requests, and they brought many fantastic ideas to the table. They were a pleasure to work with, and I'd use them again. They go above and beyond to make their clients happy.

Brad Bowman of Homes by Design brings knowledge, experience and trust to the home building process like no other custom builder in the Indianapolis area. His insight, listening skills and attention to detail gave us our vision with his creativity, design flair and lasting value. The end result was a home with more curb appeal and better construction than similar homes that exceeded our building cost. This has been proven repeatedly by a few appraisals since our construction in 2004. Reputation, trust and outstanding work led us to build with Brad after speaking with many HBD homeowners. We worked with Brad Bowman and Homes by Design for the entire home building process. We were moving in from out-of-state so we worked with Brad from a long distance during the entire design process. He was so willing to put in the time and effort needed to work through that process with us and to thoroughly ask us what details we were looking for in our new home. He was also very creative and came up with many wonderful suggestions on the design as we went along. During the entire building process we had complete trust in Brad and his company. We knew that every decision was made with a lot of thought toward building us our dream home and toward being cost conscious at the same time. Our home was built with the highest quality and a tremendous amount of detail. It also came in right on budget. It's been almost 9 years since we moved in and we are still more than happy to recommend Homes by Design as our favorite builder. We could not be happier with the quality of home we received and we have the highest respect for the dedication that Homes by Design puts into building each and every home. We would most certainly build again with this company!

This process was unlike any other construction project I have encountered. Rather than the typical "get a price and built it" routine, Homes By Design went in with a budget but constantly tweeked it by accepting new/additional competitive bids during construction an both material & labor. This in a number of instances literally saved us THOUSANDS of dollars from the original budget. In some cases we were able to upgrade to finishes previously out of our budget and in other cases we just were able to save money to use later for landscaping, furniture, etc. We were also extremely pleased with the ability of Brad and his staff to offer suggestions to better utilize existing space that may have not been considered during the planning process. Due his knowledge of ALL aspects of the building process (literally from the drawing board to the finished product) he is able, and willing, to offer suggestions on ways to continue to improve on an already great plan. I can think of a number of fairly major changes we made during the building of my home that weren't on the plan, all seemingly done with ease. Three of these changes drastically improved the final look of the home once complete. I think the bottom line with any builder is, "would you use them again?" I can say without hesitation that if I build another house Brad, Terry, and the staff at Homes By Design will be my builder of choice!

Homes By Design built our home in 2005. We were very happy with the workmanship and professionalism of the HBD staff and their subs. HBD was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had and once the home was finished, they stayed in touch with us. We became friends after the home was finished and then after several years we had them back to do some upgrades and additions to our home. First in 2006 and then in 2014. They are honest and sincere and stand behind their work. We have now moved away from Indiana, but have remained in contact with HBD.

We used Homes By Design to build our dream house. We talked to the owner, Brad Bowman for almost eight years before we decided to build our home. I do not think we could have built our house with any other builder. It did not matter what idea I had, Brad visualized what I wanted and executed my vision in the most cost effective manner. Brad always had amazing ideas in design, and how to use every inch of space. If you want a truly custom home, this is the way to go! One of the reasons we went with Homes By Design is because before we built our home we spoke to many of his previous clients. Not one had anything negative to say about their experience. Now that our project is finished we join that long list of satisfied home owners. We are beyond thrilled with the end result!
