Sandcastle hired a fence contractor to install a 40 ft wooden fence on my new-build townhouse in 2016. I bought it brand new in 2017 and in 2020, five out of ten posts failed (not due to wind). When I politely requested that their fence installer come fix this fence, they informed me that it is no longer under warranty (which I already knew) and then outright ignored my follow up email asking for them to do "the right thing" and cover the repair. Apparently spending $500k on one of their houses does not even merit a response - I am dead to them. Once the closing docs are signed, good luck - they won't stand behind their work. They won't even call up the fence installer to voice their displeasure with the fence work - apparently that is my job. They apparently aren't even interested in trying to prevent this from happening in the future. I look forward to management's creative response to my review - how will management try to discredit my review? Will I be accused of not owning one of their houses? Will I be accused of lying? Will they claim that their customer service employee was out of the office and they just didn't see my email? Let's see how they can explain a fence just breaking after three years and sticking me with the $1k repair bill.
