We had a kitchen renovation design work to do. Greg was there to meet with us every step of the way. We had one design of opening up a wall. Then, when the design was not working for contractors we had met with, Greg took the time to make sure we were still opening up the kitchen with less of an expense. We can't wait to see the work once it is done!

Greg Ripa, from Ovolo Interiors, did an excellent job for us on our 2 bathroom remodel. To begin with, he definitely lives up to what he promises at his page on Houzz - he was professional, always punctual, easy to talk to, and flexible with when to meet (sometimes evenings and Saturdays). He was timely in responding to our primitive email and phone, albeit email at night when he returned to the office. He not only helped in the design process but also in periodically showing up to inspect or talk to the contractors and answer their questions. Sometimes people forget that a designer also acts as an emotional crutch during the stressful remodeling operation. Knowing that we had Greg, we relaxed (a little) and felt more confident about how things would go. Greg started by immediately trying to get a bead on our personalities, what we were imagining for our new bathrooms, and what we had already thought about. He then worked to find designs and materials that would fit the bill. He then did that all again when we changed our minds, never once showing impatience. If we started to oggle materials and designs that contradicted the styles and desires that we first gave him, he would gently remind us that were deviating from our own original ideas and ask if that was really what we wanted. He did not ignore our changed aesthetics or simply run with them without warning us that we were shifting our goal posts. We were convinced that the bathrooms had to use the same footprints as the originals, and that severely limited design possibilities. We needed to make the bathrooms more functional as well as more aesthetic - a hard bill to fill with small and smallish bathrooms. We went over various 3d designs with him and it was getting quite frustrating. Then he proved his worth by thinking outside the box (our box, really) and showed up with an "additional design" for us to contemplate -- he adjusted the hallway closets a bit in order to get just a few more feet for the fancier, guest bathroom, and then totally rearranged it to massively increase the floor and counter space, while not reducing cupboard space, all simply by moving fixtures to much more efficient locations with the few extra feet he gained in certain areas. We lost some hallway closet space but it was worth it; it's beautiful. The shape of a room matters a LOT for making open and efficient layouts. He simply adjusted the shape of the footprint a little bit. Greg, of course, helped us with color coordination and materials, scouting and then going with us to various stores and showrooms to look, and making sure we did not lose sight of whether everything was coming together. When we had a specific desire that was outside the mainstream, he would sometimes research it for us and worked to implement it. As we progressed, he was not chained to convention, as some designers habitually are, although he was perfectly willing to tell us what was conventionally done in any situation.

Greg from OVOLO Interiors is fantastic! He is so patient and easy to work with. I appreciate how he spent time with me and my husband to best understand out priorities. Greg provided multiple drawings and was able to alter them based off questions, concerns, and needs. He was available and flexible. He was willing to work with us over email, zoom, or in person depending on what our busy schedule looked like. Greg, along with furnishing our new house, was our primary resource in helping us implement an ADU (attached dwelling unit) in our backyard. Greg went above and beyond his job as an interior designer by sitting down with us for numerous meetings to look at the prospect of an ADU. Proposing the idea was a great start to what is now a smaller version of a house in the backyard, perfect for the kids to work in whenever they need space and even more perfect for our family that visits us. We didn’t lift a finger, in terms of the research, as all the intense research was undertaken by Greg including understanding the city rules and regulations, the ADU vendor comparison, offering vs pricing comparison, interior decoration and the duration this project may take. One of Greg’s traits is his awesome work ethic and the constant understanding of what his clients may want. Swiftly, he understood what our needs for the ADU were and made a plan and setup that aligned with those needs, eventually turning the plan into a perfect construction project in our backyard. Our extended family was a big part in this process and Greg liaised between both the ADU partner and our family to discuss requirements and how they might translate into an actual deliverable. We are extremely happy with what Greg brings to his work which is a perfect balance of both intensity and understanding. We highly recommend Greg for any and all home enhancement projects.

Five stars is a definite rating we would give Greg Ripa, who is now our go-to interior decorator specialist around the house. Greg brings an inspirational intensity to his work as well as a refreshing sense of humor. We had a feeling of success amongst our entire family once we finished our interior design process, with Greg being a key aspect in it all. We proposed quite the difficult challenge for Greg, buying and moving into a new house during the pandemic. On the day we invited Greg to take a look at the house, my husband and I stood alongside Greg at what looked like an open space, uninviting and cold for the moment with no lovely furniture that explained to a passing individual that a warm and happy family would soon reside there. Greg, undeterred, stepped in with his rich experienced and he made the idea of a modernized farmhouse vividly come to life. Greg took a house where we didn’t feel at home just yet, and made it into a warm and inviting family house, From furnishing the living room to the complex bar requirements, Greg adeptly brought his creativity best to the table. We’re so thankful to Greg for turning a house full of possibilities into one of a family home that both my older parents, myself and my husband, and my two daughters share positive memories for years to come.

Greg helped us with interior decorating after moving into our new home. We have a few spaces in the home that are a bit of an odd size/layout to decorate, and Greg came to the rescue! He was extremely professional throughout the entire process, and his incredible communication, planning, and management skills only came in second to his design skills. Greg helped us to pick paint colors, curtain designs/fabric, photo collage layouts, furniture for our living areas/bedroom, and decor to tie everything together. During the pandemic, ordering things can be tough, and Greg stayed on top of it every step of the way. We experienced multiple delays and damaged furniture on arrival but having Greg to help us navigate these situations was extremely beneficial. When we needed other tradesmen to come in, his contacts were equally as great to work with. I would recommend Greg to my friends, and will definitely call him again when I need his services in the future. We are still waiting on some final pieces to arrive and as soon as everything is set, I will update with pictures of his work!

Greg was wonderful to work with. My construction project went on too long due to issues with the contractor. I got to the point I was just too overwhelmed. Greg sensed this and he stepped in and really held my hand through the process. I loved the design that he came up with for my kitchen and his measurements for the placement of everything were absolutely correct. I will use Greg again in the future.

We hired Greg to design an exterior staircase for our house in Santa Cruz. From day 1, Greg was extremely pragmatic and efficient to work with. Greg knows city codes, and as a civil engineer by training, he is realistic about what can feasibly be built at a reasonable cost. Greg very quickly, easily, and respectfully explained to me some of the impracticalities of my own thoughts. He suggested a far simpler and feasible way to come up with a practical and cost-effective plan set. With COVID delays at the City of Santa Cruz, it took us 4 months from permit application until it was finally approved. At each step, Greg stayed closely involved, even talking with the City of Santa Cruz plans inspectors on several occasions to understand what was meant and requested for plan check revisions. Given my high level of involvement in the project, I had many questions and suggestions to Greg. Greg was extremely patient in listening to my 'ideas' and 'concerns' and accepted many of them when they made sense to him. But he also was really great in explaining the rationale for some items that I originally had concerns with. As we started on the project, we ran into some structural issues in the house and Greg worked with my structural engineer and contractor to propose ideas to solve these issues. In the end the plans were approved and construction has begun. I can't wait to share the photos which I will do so here when the staircase is complete in a few weeks. Thank you Greg!

Greg is a thorough professional and easy to work with. He is committed and communicates clearly at every step. We worked with him on a small project to redesign our study space. Although the pandemic paused the actual construction work for us, we are pleased with the design process and his work. Eagerly waiting to resume and see those designs come to life soon.

Like many Americans, I was unprepared for the new WFH reality that Covid brought about. I had a small little home office that was perfect for checking movie times or paying bills once a month but definitely not great to spend days in. Given the various health shut downs and the competition for remodeling projects, I also couldn't find anybody to do the work. Greg said don't worry it -- I will take care of it. And that's exactly what he did. He delivered the home office of my dreams. (And while he was at it, his team installed custom made shelving in the garage -- which turned out amazing.) What I love about Greg is that he treated my house like it was his own. His attention to detail and creativity are off the charts. I would highly recommend Greg -- he's THAT good.

We were extremely pleased with Greg and his professional knowledge. He did a phenomenal job of taking the time and patiences to understand our needs from the beginning to the final project. He worked well with our Contractor and communicated our goals and objectives. He went above and beyond to help us choose the materials needed, design and color selections. My house was clean but ugly. Now and thanks to the magic of my decorator Greg my house today is super cute, very well decorated and cozy. All my friends and family have told me that wow how beautiful your house is now!! I feel happy to come home and enjoy the living room, the kitchen to cook and my master bedroom is beautiful! my house now looks like those pictures in the magazines. I'm happy and proud of the excellent decor work that Greg did! super patient, professional and very reasonable in prices and payments. Greg knows where to go shopping depending on the budget. From now on, if I get another house or room Greg will be part of the budget!

I had a fantastic time working with Greg over the past few weeks. He got the job done perfectly, on time and under budget. I don't have a good eye for design so I relied on him heavily through out the project. He helped strike the perfect balance between getting creating and remaining practical. Greg helped me with the following: 1) Understand and create a budget. 2) Measure each area of the apartment. 3) Figure out what I wanted in each area. 4) Find and buy the right items (including furniture and decorating items). 5) Apply final touches to bring everything together. Greg is also incredibly patient, professional, creative, and helpful. I cant speak more highly of him. I love my new apartment and will definitely recommend him to my friends and family.

Greg was the magic our house sorely needed in order to look so warm and beautiful as it does today! Greg is simply fantastic to work with! Within the first session Greg had got us completely figured out in terms of our style and what we were looking for. He is highly creative and comes up with out of the box ideas to leverage existing furniture along with new ones for decorating the house. Ovolo Interiors was hired to do the decorations for our Annual Gala Event. Greg did a fantastic job! Not only did Greg have great ideas for our theme, but he kept within out limited budget. The place looked not just beautiful, but it was elegant, and it was done with great taste!

We hired Ovolo Interiors to help us with a re-design of our Master Bedroom. After our initial meeting with Greg he quickly got a sense of our overall design preferences and style. He was very thorough in his researching options for furniture, wall design and drapes as well as decorative items for us, and stayed withing the timeline and the budget for our project. We highly recommend Greg, he provided excellent customer service and was very responsive throughout.

Greg at Ovolo Interiors created a fantastic new look for the guest bedroom in my home. It was my first time working with a designer, and it far exceeded my expectations! Greg took that small clue and created entire design for our master bedroom which included wanescoating, paint colors, shutter recommendations, and new furniture. I hired this company because I needed help on changing the look of one of the rooms of my house. It is the first room you see when you enter the house. He saw what I had in the way of pictures and that there are a lot of Japanese artifacts in the room. What he came up with was a fresher look to go with my newly refinished hardwood floors. He was very professional and we completed the job in time for my company to come in the next week. I highly recommend this company and will use them again if I come up with another project for them to help me with.
