If you're anywhere in the South, porch ceilings are oftentimes "haint blue".

My porch ceiling can be seen from the front, so it is painted the same color as the wall. My house is also gray and white. White is for features that you want to stand out. I do not want my porch ceiling to stand out. People tend to think of white as a neutral, but to me white is a "look at me" in your face color.

I would cut the gray owl by 25% and put that on the ceiling. This will read the same as the body color as ceilings always appear a shade darker. Gray owl can sometimes spear green or blue / gray so this should look nice on your ceiling.

Sky blue. It truly works. Mud dobbers and hornets will not build nests there. It is amazing to watch. I guess they think it is Sky. But it is wonderful.

How much does the porch block light from going inside the house? The lighter the color, the more light may be reflected inside.

We have an HOA and now I can only choose between the two colors anyway because we need to paint this week, and already got the two color scheme approved -- we would have to wait a month until the committee meets again. So since I have to choose between the two colors, which would you choose for the outdoor ceilings .... would painting the ceiling white look strange? I can't picture it, I feel like white ceilings are for interiors.

Oh brother;)! Of course you can paint the ceiling white but if you cut the gray owl by 25% it will read the same as your wall color! Who would know! If you paint it the same as your wall color it will read a shade darker!

Either will work, Toss a coin to decide. BTW, mine matches the house color, not the trim color. It could have gone either way.
