We’d love to hear about your Christmas tree traditions and stories with your photos. Are there special family pieces or ornaments made by your children? Do you like to stick to a particular theme or color palette? Let the Houzz community know what inspires your tree decorating.
Last year, Houzz user Kimberly shared a touching story about the angel that tops her tree. “When I was 6 years old, we lost our home in a fire. When my mom asked what I would like for Christmas later that year, I requested not toys, but an angel for the top of the Christmas tree,” she wrote. “Mom was struggling to find one, but thanks to the kindness of a florist who ripped one out of the floral display in her shop window, my Christmas wish came true. The angel topped mom’s tree for 39 years and now watches over us from my tree.”

Photos of how your pets enjoy the tree are also crowd pleasers. If you have photos of your pets engaging with your tree, please share them. In this case, Houzz reader wairedale explained that their family’s fuzzy ornaments had to be hung above “terrier height.” This photo makes it easy to see why!

And finally, we’d love to see close-ups of some of your favorite decorations and the stories behind them.
“The bird tree is from a collection my mom started when they were stationed in Puerto Rico. The Army would fly in live trees and Mom got there late one year and all that was left was a Charlie Brown tree,” Houzz reader dlb98 wrote. “She went to the PX and bought some birds (and a few butterflies), mixed up some fake snow with Ivory flakes and her mixer and created a masterpiece.”

Also, no tree is too small to share! Houzz user Anke Savchenko shared this sweet petite tree trimmed with beautiful wood and straw ornaments she brought back from her hometown of Erfurt, Germany.
