Warm Walnut
Designer Lauren Geremia gave an entire wall the bar treatment in this San Francisco library space. The marble wet bar portion provides a beautiful contrast to the rich walnut wood.
Style note: The marble shelves continue the lines of the wood shelves in terms of alignment and thickness, creating an eye-pleasing look.

Aspirational Alcove
This Illinois bar cleverly takes up very little floor space. Instead, the designers at PB Kitchen Design used a thick-wall strategy to nestle the elegant walnut bar into the architecture. It serves as both wine bar and coffee bar.
Style note: A clear glass lift-up cabinet door gives the glassware a dust-free display area.

This is what the bar niche looks like closed up and tucked in. This type of setup works well in or just off a kitchen, dining room or den.

Refined Rustic
This Minnesota home bar built by Kroiss Development also has a sense of age thanks to reclaimed wood and wooden tractor-seat-inspired bar stools. The countertop is Labradorite, full of beautiful flecks of color. The wood-carved Navy wings honor the homeowners’ son’s service as a Navy pilot. He picked them up during a port call in the Philippines.
Style note: The area behind a wall sconce is a good place to add an accent. Here, the sconces are set against reclaimed wood.
