What Houzz contributors are saying:
Drapery at the Bed Head Another option is to install a drapery panel only at the head of the bed to create a drapery headboard. Often another small panel is added to the side rails by the pillows to create a more enclosed, intimate space. Designer Andrea Schumacher says those panels are usually between one-fourth and one-third the width of the canopy panel at the head of the bed. Here lightweight pocket-top drapery panels allow the top rails to run easily through them.Schumacher says the side panels are double faced, or double sided with fabric, but since the drapery panel at the head is against the wall, it required only the front, or face, fabric.

A qualified interior designer can oversee a team of workers, make decisions about moving interior walls, plan a kitchen or bathroom remodel, make a home wheelchair accessible and more. “And,” says Schumacher, “an interior designer has the skills to help with furniture and fabrics — the ‘jewelry’ of the home.”Tell us: Still have burning questions about interior designers?
