Yes, this is a tongue & groove ceiling. It was custom stained to match the floors. The material is vertical grain cedar.

The dining “area” is approximately 11’-6” by 19’. The 11’-6” dimension was a little tight in this application bc there is path all the way around it that we wanted to be clear, so one might want to allow for more room in that direction.

These spaces are much taller than average – just as a reference the doors are 8’-0” tall. From the finished floor to the bottom of the beam is 11’-4” and from the finished floor to the top of the beam is 12’-6”. From the finished floor to the bottom of the ridge beam is approximately 21’-6”.

Since images can differ greatly online, I would recommend obtaining a carpet sample and placing it with the tile. In the photo above, you will notice that there is not much contrast between the sisal rug and the hardwood flooring. Hope this helps!

    That does help. Thanks.

This elegant kitchen was achieved using several different approaches. It is minimalistic, and uses neutral soothing colors. There is a mixing of materials and textures which add visual interest. Elements of architecture such as high ceilings, beams, lots of windows, and an open floor plan. This is a professional level kitchen that offers much to a chef, but is extremely uncluttered.
