As a construction professional and consultant interacting with AHJs and facilitating entitlement processes, I have seen thousands of residential drawings. Hart Wright's drawings are among the finest I have seen. The attention to detail is exquisite and a piece of art in and of itself. I recall her window detailing, in particular, brought the windows to life in a way I had not seen before.

We had decided to remodel our circa 1882 Noe Valley Victorian in 2016. We started by interviewing Hart Wright as architects based on a nice writeup in the SF Chronicle on a project they had been involved with. It was our first interview (with Eliza Hart to start). We seemed to be on the same page from the outset and chose to go with them right away. As it turned out the remodel became a complete rebuild from the ground-foundation up. We kept the Victorian facade but little else. The entire interior was redesigned on two levels to take full advantage of the fact the rear of the house faces south and gets full sun all day. That meant a large deck and lots of open interior space stretching the length of the upper floor from the open kitchen through the living room. Ceilings were raised and skylights were added as further enhancements. Good lighting was a priority. Until you embark on a project like ours you have no idea as to the multitude of issues that will need to be addressed as the building evolves. Some were small and some large, some were design related while others were structural. Eliza Hart & Stuart Wright brought their individual strengths to bear across the board and furnished creative solutions on a variety of fronts. The icing on the cake was that they remained fun to work with throughout!

Hart Wright Architects were exactly what we were looking for. They went above and beyond to help us design a new layout for our home that better fit our needs. They brought their creativity and art, as well as their technical expertise. Eliza and Stuart were patient, helped us learn about our trade-off decisions, and they actively listened to our needs. Choosing Hart Wright Architects is the most important step we took for our remodel project. We would do it again in a heartbeat! My husband and I needed architectural drawings for our 1959 home remodel (all original - no previous improvements), and it was especially important to us to redesign in a way that was in keeping with our neighborhood and reflected our personal sensibilities. Eliza Hart and Stuart Wright were the perfect complement to our efforts. After listening to our concerns, wishes and dreamy ideas, they designed a clean, modern, warm living space that, though now brand new, still remains true to the spirit of our family home of 25 years. Their ability to interpret our vision exceeded our expectations. And, they demonstrated that they cared. From beginning to end, our concerns became their concerns: Did their services stay on budget? YES. Did they know our town's permit requirements? YES. Did they meet deadlines? YES. Was their work excellent? YES. And finally, we must also say that we like them. They are VERY NICE PEOPLE.

We recently completed a project designed by Hart Wright Architects in San Francisco. Even though the project had a tight budget, Hart Wright’s creativity shined through and they addressed their clients’ interests to the fullest extent. From our point of view, their drawings were clear and thorough— which helped the process go smoothly. During the entire project, which included pre-construction from us, they were true collaborators with us and the clients. Their design sensibility stands out, and they are energetic and enthusiastic team players.

We recently completed a project designed by Hart Wright Architects in Atherton, CA. Throughout the process, they remained collaborators with us and their clients. They were respectful of their client's needs, and answered our questions quickly and considerately. Their interest in being team players stands out, there were no conflicts that arose out of the various parties and since the project had a very tight budget this means a lot. They always responded to problems with creativity and energy. They are fun and fair to work with, clear communicators, and great designers.

Stu and Eliza help me develop a multi-purpose prototype design for my outdoor fitness and consulting business. It was something they had never built before, with a team they had never worked with before, and on a tight deadline and even tighter budget with no wiggle room. I chose them because I love their aesthetic and I knew they would be as committed to the project as I was. I also knew they would make the process fun for everyone involved -- which is the really the Holy Grail in a project like this. It's one thing to get the thing built. It's another thing when everyone -- the project manager, the fabricators, the engineers, and the client -- reflect back on the process and smile. The project was a huge success and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Highly recommend.

Eliza and Stuart had the perfect personalities for our project. Their sense of humor, their flexibility and their creativity helped keep the project fresh, fun and beautiful. I can safely say that the project was a success in large part to their ability to collaborate, their love of design, and their sensitivity to what we needed (and the ability to synthesize all of it!). Life is too short to spend with people who can't put a smile on your face. Eliza and Stuart are wonderful and I loved working with them. Both are very attentive to client needs while also being professional and great at handling the various subs. My project was small but they still gave me a sense of comfort and were still able to infuse a high degree of creativity. I highly recommend them and would hire them again.

We hired Eliza Hart and her partner Stuart Wright for our whole house remodel. The project is still in progress, but thanks to their help we anticipate amazing results. Though we are 'long distance' clients, they have been flexible, attentive (electronically!) and thorough. They have educated us about architecture and held our hands through this -being our first remodeling project.
