Grant and Power Landscaping

Grant and Power landscaped our former home almost 20 years ago and maintained the garden meticulously until we built a new house this summer. We have been so pleased with G & Ps design and work that we hired them again to landscape our new home. We are just as pleased with this project. They incorporated all our requests and were able to use the builder’s plantings as well. G &P is creative, reliable and great at listening to their customers. We highly recommend their work.

We hired Grant & Power to do a small patio with landscaping. Gene was a pleasure to work with. We were very happy with the design and workmanship. Grant & Power created a serene and beautiful outdoor space.

We are just completing a major project with Grant & Power. We asked them to replace a retaining wall, add drainage/drain tiles, build two patios, and resurface our front stoop, front walk and driveway. From our design plan with Jan, to the execution supervised by Tyler and performed by the crew, we have been happy every step of the way. Our entire lot has been transformed and our home looks beautiful. The crew was professional, hard working and responsive. They were on time every day and got this big job completed as fast as humanly possible. Hats off to Grant & Power for giving us the yard and hardscaping we had dreamed about for years!

Gene Grant was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He listened to our comments and designed a plan that aligned with our ideas for our backyard patio and landscaping. The project was started promptly and the communication was excellent during the entire process. Any issues or concerns were addressed and corrected easily. We had Grant and Power Landscaping remove 20 year old landscaping (450 gallon pond and flagstone patio) and replace with a paver patio, new drainage system to divert water away from the house, and flagstone in pathways (reusing the previous patio stone). The process was smooth from design and choosing the materials, to installation. The crew was attentive, professional and did not cut corners. I was pleased at how many bushes and plants could be replanted/ moved, rather than discarded. Would recommend them to everyone!

Grant and Power won us over with their honesty and commitment to quality. My wife and I quoted our outdoor project with four different companies. We ended up choosing Grant & Power because we were more confident that they would provide a superior product within the time frame discussed. They definitely met all of our expectations, even though we missed our time frame by a few days. The delay in time was due to a manufacturer shipping error. I was very impressed with how the Grant & Power Sales team handled the situation as they notified me right away of the error and kept me in the loop as to when it would be fixed. I appreciated them being up front and honest; thus, I will always be a future customer.

There are not enough good words to say about this company. As a social studies department chair in Dupage (first at NNHS and now at DGN), I have worked with Grant & Power on two separate Memorial Peace Garden projects designed to create outdoor garden spaces. The intention is to honor the lives of alumni killed in service to our Country and to provide an educational space to remind current students to work toward peaceful solutions. In both of these enormous projects, Grant & Power Landscaping took on our Gardens and DONATED their amazing design team and labor. They worked on their side to secure material donations for all our stonework and plantings. In the two projects they did for Naperville North High School and for Downers North and Downers South High Schools, they easily donated over $100,000 in labor and materials. Each year the company works to give back and does philanthropic work that changes lives. How many companies do that with such generosity with nothing expected in return? They understood the vision and worked collaboratively to create Gardens that were meant to not only be seen, but experienced. The messages of honoring our Veterans and working toward peace in our world come through in every single part of what they created. In addition to donating their work to our schools, every phone call was returned immediately. All communications were collaborative and professional. The crews that worked for weeks at both high schools were efficient, kind, safe, and extremely dedicated. They took immense pride in their work. They did all of this with no fanfare, completing every single deadline on time during their busiest time of year. I have worked in education for over twenty-five years, and the work we did with Grant and Power Landscaping was the most rewarding thing I have ever been a part of as an educator. Today, outdoor spaces that were neglected and abused are now sanctuaries. Students, educators and community members all use these spaces regularly both to teach, to honor those lost, or to enjoy the outdoors and a quiet moment with a friend. I am forever grateful to Grant & Power Landscaping and all they have done (and continue to do) behind the scenes to make our world a more beautiful place. You could not select a better company to work with, beginning to end of a project, than Grant and Power Landscaping. We worked with them to design and build a large garden last spring. Their design, planning, and implementation were second to none. They checked in with us as we had design changes and were very accommodating to what we needed. When it came time to do the work, the crew was highly professional, hard-working, and outstanding at their craft. The scope of this project was quite large and detailed; Grant and Power had it done in less than a week. There is no question in my mind, if you have a landscaping project you want to look beautiful and you want it done professionally, select Grant and Power.

We moved into a new neighborhood under construction in Geneva and our home had a walkout basement under a large deck. To provide for a shaded patio under the deck and adjacent landscaped seating and garden areas, we secured designs and bids from three very reputable landscape architect firms. We worked directly with Gene Grant who lives in Geneva and liked his design best by far, and it was apparent he listened to what was important to us and incorporated that into the design. Work started on time, was completed efficiently and we are very satisfied. We have referred G&P to three neighbors who we think will select G&P for their yards. Gene has stopped by this spring to remind us he'd like to do a walk through of our garden to address any issues with plantings as they surface for their first Spring in our new garden. We chose the right service provider for our home.

Worked with Gene at Grant & Power on our backyard landscaping and pavers and were so pleased, had him design and complete work in the front of the home. He helped us stay within our budget and the work was done in a timely manner after we approved the design. The workers cleaned up every day and checked in with us to a make sure we were satisfied. There is a human element to this company. Having lost a loved one between jobs, Gene created a memorial tree area in his design at his own cost to honor our daughter. We are forever grateful for this kind and compassionate gesture and it speaks volumes about the kind of company Grant & Power is and their relationship with return clients.

We used Grant & Power for our entire outside design. Very accommodating and always willing to come to you. With two kids at home this was great. Gene is very upfront and honest and nothing is a surprise. If your over budget he will work with you to change the plan to still have a great design yet at your budget. You get what you pay for (budget was $75,000). Would recommend for sure.

We had our entire front yard re landscaped in the summer of 16. Gene and his team did an incredible job. From the initial design to the final product, I am extremely happy with the communication and professionalism of Grant and Power. I highly recommend.
