Rather than starting with an outcome in mind, this 1,400 square foot residence began from a polemic place - exploring shared conviction regarding the concentrated power of living with a smaller footprint. From the gabled silhouette to passive ventilation, the home captures the nostalgia for the past with the sustainable practices of the future.
While the exterior materials contrast a calm, minimal palette with the sleek lines of the gabled silhouette, the interior spaces embody a playful, artistic spirit. From the hand painted De Gournay wallpaper in the master bath to the rugged texture of the over-grouted limestone and Portuguese cobblestones, the home is an experience that encapsulates the unexpected and the timeless.

Resting upon a 120-acre rural hillside, this 17,500 square-foot residence has unencumbered mountain views to the east, south and west. The exterior design palette for the public side is a more formal Tudor style of architecture, including intricate brick detailing; while the materials for the private side tend toward a more casual mountain-home style of architecture with a natural stone base and hand-cut wood siding.
Primary living spaces and the master bedroom suite, are located on the main level, with guest accommodations on the upper floor of the main house and upper floor of the garage. The interior material palette was carefully chosen to match the stunning collection of antique furniture and artifacts, gathered from around the country. From the elegant kitchen to the cozy screened porch, this residence captures the beauty of the White Mountains and embodies classic New Hampshire living.

The aim of the project was to create a human-sized architecture.
The Prêt-à-Habiter Villa is located in Collina D’Oro, Montagnola, one of the most renowned regions in the Lugano district, characterized by presence of water, vegetation and small volumes of private villas. The clients entrusted us with a precise task: build a private villa to be sold as a real estate promotion. So, starting from a hypothetical blank sheet of paper, we let the place inspire us, as well as a leading concept that embodies the values and ideals that every individual unconsciously has and that our architectural ideals chase. From this peculiar mental process, the concept based on the ideas of Prêt-à-Porter, Prêt-à-Manger and Prêt-à-Habiter was born. Logics of human subconscious that make the individual want to possess and consume symbols of social belonging. Beauty identifies with the person as a whole and the architectural object becomes a symbol of social identity, a structure ready to be inhabited and to include in the individual’s daily life elements that they can identify with and that succeed in satisfying the sense of property.

Naked Kitchens
This beautiful kitchen embodies all the traditionalism of shaker design with some classic embellishments, such as aperture beading attached to the face frames and bold contrasts of colour between timeless oak and pelt purple with a neutral grey background.
The simplicity and minimalist appeal continues with stylish pewter handles and glazed panels on the upper cabinets, to reflect light and illuminate the cabinets' feature piece contents and beautiful oak interior.
