Since you need somewhere to stow the Roomba and other stuff, a storage cabinet about 42-48" wide and about 36" high in the same color as the shoe cabinet would work. It must be wider than the tv.

Whatever you get should be 25% wider than the TV.

Would you be open to getting rid of that shoe rack if you got more storage? Post a photo of the whole room so we can give you some ideas that may help you better.

Tedbixby - I would love to get rid of that shoe rack but we just put it in due to the pile of shoes that was in that area since there was no place to put them. There really is no other place to put it.

I was wondering if you were willing to get rid of the shoe rack if we came up with a solution that would also incorporate a place to put your shoes, too. Ahh - sorry. A big wall unit was talked about a while back and it just didnt work out so we got the little shoe rack and then we want a little TV stand with a little bit of storage.

Would a plant or something on the left side of this TV stand be enough to "separate" the TV stand and shoe rack?

The style of the TV stand is not complimenting the style of your shoe rack and a plant isn't going to separate it enough. If you want to go that way I'd shop for it in a black finish which will blend with your shoe rack better.

I see your acrylic coffee table so I know you have some modern elements going on but the shoe rack is a bit more "rustic." So you need to marry the styles together and usually something along this finish can work. It's just hard to tell for sure with only seeing a part of a wall photo.

To the left of the show rack is the front door and to the right of the tv stand is 10 feet of nothing.

I do like the style of the image you shared and was actually trying to find one like that with more closed storage but didnt have much luck in my price range - less than 500.

I will keep looking for something like that one though.

The best TV Stand for small places would be an adjustable one. Like the one I've attached below. It could be ordered in any color and top shelf could be adjusted as wide as you need especially if you planning to get a bigger TV. Nice niche for your components and additional storage shelf underneath it.

If you have 10 feet of nothing to the right of the TV, I'd get the longest media cabinet you can find. It would really be helpful to see the entire wall. Trying to recommend something without seeing its context is an invitation to failure.

The picture above the TV is going to be moved... The dog kennel and box thing on the right side of current stand are also going to be moved.

I like the charcoal version of the one you just sent. 71 inches though. I think the TV is going to be in the 40-45in range - would 71 be to long for that size TV?

A TV stand can almost never be too long, only too short.

I'd get rid of the chandeliers, paint out the pillar between the windows, and get the longest TV stand you can. If it's long enough, perhaps you can eliminate the shoe cabinet.

The chandeliers are above the kitchen island - Tv.... coffee table... couch... bar stools... island... kitchen.. I took the pic from the kitchen and kind of high so the island and bar stools are not shown.

As far as the TV stand I see a number of gray ones, I looked for gray since a number of ppl said I should try to match it to the shoe stand.

Thanks J Design - Space is a factor but no storage is also a factor so we need cabinets, also the distance from couch to TV is so short that if the TV is to high we are looking up which we do not want.
