I would select a TV that is slightly shorter than the FP.

I agree with Beverly as to the size 65" would work . Check with the FP install as to how close to the fire box you can hang a TV with no mantel. I like aTV hung to have the center of the screen at eye level when you are seated so maybe the FP will need to be lower . Post a pic of your FP and space that is how help comes better here.

Look at the SPECS on your selection. tv's are sold as a diagonal measure, you want to know the actual left to right width, which means a 75 inch may be perfectly fine: )

Your firebox specs, will dictate the hang height to protect the tv.

There are ways to circumvent, such as a solid surface thin mantel beneath the tv. to divert heat away. Or widen the look of the fire as below and that box was 72 inches.

You don't need smaller, and we have no clue how far away you may be sitting? The point of the tv is to watch the tv: )

We absolutely made this error and got a tv bigger than fireplace. It is what it is but would look far better if we had gotten it right! Don’t make our mistake.
