What about those of us who live in retirement communities, and are unable to add "bump outs" to our kitchens?! Can't even use the two corner sections of the cheap builder-grade cabinets, since they are so deep they are totally impractical. After a lot of upheaval when we had the floor tiled (appliances sitting in the hall & small office for weeks after being let down by the first contractor), I honestly don't think I could go through that level of mess and stress again! As much as I hate my kitchen, it would seem that any "remodeling" will be limited to replacing the countertops, and possibly painting the existing cabinets.
