@Kelly AM: If it works for you, go for it. I have a Shaw 33" Fireclay for many years for my kitch sink. I bath all my small dogs in it. Since I have a counter on either side of the sink, it makes it nice to lay out the shampoos/conditioners as well as the towels. For my larger dogs I had over the years (all my dogs are rescues), I used the walk in no threshold shower. I had them get on the built in bench which made them easy to clean - even those that got skunk sprayed. :)

Also consider a stainless steel version.

@Celestina...the stain color should be similar to the color on these kitchen cabinets...again, this is not our finished kitchen, but another photo from one of my Houzz Ideabooks...though I do want to do our kitchen cabinets in this color as well.

@Dana Veach Looks like a milk/chaulk wash, but I could be mistaken. It's like a very "relaxed" country/rural style. Nice look.

I'm thinking more old world using venetian plaster aka lime/marble plaster with colour and perhaps natural wax finish. But it has to use very low odor solvents for thinning. If none available, I'll go with natural finish what's called Marmorino but I prefer a bit of colour such as a old rose or something rich like the Mantovano finish. Some people use chalk paint but it's not the same thing. There are so many different finishes and layering. It's really an art. You can even water proof it using a technique from Morocco called tadelakt which consists of 7 layers of stone plaster then finished (polished with a smooth stone) with silky pearlescent natural powder paste. After 7 times, it's sealed with black olive oil soap. It's considered the top of the line plaster treatment. A bit rich for my blood, but oh, so beautiful and very durable.

Here's the sink I think I'll purchase for my garden shed. I first saw it on Houzz. It's called Alape Bucket and has UV protection which is great for a shed with glass walls. Rejuvenation carries it. Come in gray or navy PVC trim. Easy set up for copper pipe/faucet to attach a hose and recycle water through the drain.

Here's an aged fresco from a French apt. that I really like. Would make a perfect textured wall for the cottage. I don't like straight paint - all one colour. To me it's very boring. I do like stain as it shows the lines of wood so you get texture. Lime plaster is similar in that it can be smooth as a baby's butt or full of texture, even applying it thinly over molding & stenciling.
