This is a great article, with lots of decorating ideas for people all over the country. I did think that mantel in 16 was a bit busy, not at all simple as the article states. Numbering the photos is so helpful, I love it. It would be great for this email to come at least the week before Thanksgiving, I discovered it on Friday, the day after. This is odd for me as I generally eagerly await each email from Houzz.

This November, it got so cold and snowy here in the Midwest, that we kind of skipped over the Thanksgiving décor and jumped right into putting up Christmas.

I get as much from the comments section as I do from Houzz articles, and sometimes that includes complaints. Before covering your table in autumn leaves or pinecones, check to make sure guests don’t have allergies. I have a mold allergy, so autumn up until snowfall is my worst time. Dying leaves are the bane of my existence.

There is an easy fix if you like the idea of leaves on your table - either get some silk leaves and spread them over the table, or perhaps running real leaves through a sink of soapy water might work.... which I haven’t tried, so test it out first! I’m sure other crafty people on this site might have some good ideas for preserving fall leaves and keeping them allergen free!
