Do you remember the roof color?
We are choosing siding and roofing.
Narrowed the siding to Monterey taupe with Navajo Beige trim (my choice) OR what you have done here with Timber Bark ( I also love this but maybe not for our house. This is my husbands fave!)
We are choosing from Tamko Classic Heritage colors for our roof.

    Suggestions please!
    Thanks -Britt

    Hello Brittk70:

We used Oakridge Shingles and the color was Driftwood. Our designer actually picks all the colors and styles that we will use. Her name is Sarah Randolph and she has an account on Houzz too!

Here is a link to the shingles that we used on this house. We tend to use a lot of grey and lately dark grey when we choose the roof color. But that will all depend on the style, colors and feel of your house, plus wherever you are located may have a very different feel than a Minnesota home.

    Thanks!

Benjamin Moore Heritage Red for the front door! As for the columns, the stone base is 2'x2' and the trim is 1'x1'! Thanks for all the questions. Keep them coming. : )

LP is LP Smartside, it is a brand of siding we use on almost all of our current homes. Their "products deliver all the warmth and beauty of traditional wood, plus the durability and workability of engineered wood." - from their website. As a company we enjoy the product and it has been working well for us.

Hope this helps :) Disclamer: always ask your contractor what is best for your home with regards to look you are going for and the climate that you are located in.

Thank you, Katie. Timberline is a popular manufacturer here. How does Oakridge compare with Timberline?
  • PRO
    Ridge Creek Custom Homes
I would have no worries using Timberline as a manufacturer. We switched from Oakridge to Timberline a while back. I don't know of the exact reasoning of the switch since I'm not in the production department, I'm in the marketing department. However, I can tell you, at Ridge Creek Custom Homes we have no problem standing behind our homes. :)

What is the name of the color 40-30? Is it Woodstock Brown? And your certain the trim is Sail Cloth and not Arctic White? Sail Cloth looks a little yellow.
  • PRO
    Ridge Creek Custom Homes
Sail Cloth is what we have listed on our selection sheets and it look similar to the pictures. The window trim is white and you can see that it is different than the trim color.

    Information for Benjamin Moore Colors:
    http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/pm21

The color for the siding on the selection sheets is James Hardie 40-30, back in 2012. Currently that number is matched with the name Timber Bark. They may have possible changed the colors? But that is what we have listed. You will also have to remember that this picture was taken in the evening so it could skew the colors a little.

Sorry about the late reply, but better late than never right? ;) ... Have a good day.

What is the exposure on the shingles? We have the Timberbark siding with a 5" reveal and we are trying to decide oon how much reveal to have on the shingles.

Hi! Are you sure this is Driftwood? It looks very Gray in the picture, but Driftwood has more brown in it. Is it just the lighting of the picture? If so, do you haven other picture that's lighter where you can see the color more clearly? Thank you!

Door: Benjamin Moore Heritage Red - Panels and door are the same color, just the door has a screen door in front of it that makes it look darker.

Windows are Pella Proline white and they have a trim around them that is colored Sail Cloth by James Hardie 20-10.

    Hello:

We would recommend contacting an architect for your project for proper advice. However, for this particular house it has a 6" trim on the top, 12'' on the middle and a 4" on the lower portion of the header. The columns themselves are 12"x12". These are approximate numbers from past plans, This particular house could have been modified.

    Thanks for the questions.

            5. Keep a well-lit porch. There is something so inviting about a porch lit with warm, glowing light; you almost can't help but sit down and relax for a spell. Aim to have at least three sources of light — a pair of sconces plus an overhead fixture, for instance. But you can also borrow light from inside your house by way of transom windows over the door, and by keeping indoor shades up while you are out sitting.
