Have you ever done a crema marfil with white subway tile? In your opinion, would that look good, or do you think the cream/ivory color tile is necessary? Thanks!

I have tried to have my master bedroom designed like this one. I think it is just beautiful! Will not be able to finish it exactly like yours, but I think it looks very pretty. I am having a chandelier placed over the tub. Love the soft colors! Thank you for such a lovely design. I will send you a photo when I am finished!

I love your colors in this beautiful bathroom. They are just what I envision for our new MBR. What subway tiles did you use in the shower, what tiles on the shower floor, and what accent tiles?

I have a whole bathroom of crema marfill. Yes, the floor is slick if you or it is wet. I put mats by the shower and sink to prevent a problem.

  • Pam Mikulis

You can get this marble honed. It isn't as durable, but you won't have the slickness problem. Another option is that there is procelain tile that matches pretty well.

The room dimensions given were for different areas, not the overall size, also the tub deck travels into the shower, so the 102" includes approximately 5" of shower curb. The inside of the shower is 42" + 102" =144" at the tub/shower wall. There is another 26" for the recess at the vanity wall, so wall to wall the room is 170" across x 170.5" long. Her vanity wall shown in another picture, is 118 1/2" long. This was an addition, so we were essentially able to make the room the size we wanted
  • sunfeather

I love this tub/shower design. I was thinking about a freestanding tub but this looks so much better and seems a lot more practical for getting in and out of the tub - especially with the handles on the tub.

I love the the shower & the tub it's a beautiful bathroom. We are in the process of redoing our master bath. We chose white tile for the shower. Our tub has a cultured marble surround (14 yrs old) which we would like to change. We were going to use tile around the tub before I read your recommendation to use a solid surface. Can you tell me what the solid surface is around the tub?

Thank you for supplying the colors. Does the Marscapone trim color match the vanity? It looks so in the photo but wanted to be sure. We are in the process of choosing colors for our vanity and if your design's trim color matches it, I can reference it and show our cabinet maker and also paint our trim that same color. Your design is lovely. Hope ours turns out as well.

yes, operable skylights are fantastic, they let in the air when you want and seal tight when they close. Make sure you don't get one too big, because you want to make sure you have plenty of light at night in your bathroom, and a large skylight will prevent you from having even light distribution as it can occupy a large portion of the ceiling. This prevents you from having recessed cans or other lighting. It is something I always evaluate before recommending a skylight, will I be able to get good lighting in this room at night? Everyone thinks about how bright it will be in the daytime, but they forget that at night they are a large black hole and will require good lighting around them.
  • ballasa
I've had a roof window that opens in my bathroom for many years and love it. I can lie in the bathtub and watch the sky. The light it provides is fantastic and it has never leaked. I can open it to let heat out when it builds up in the summer. The pitch of my roof is about 45 degrees.

Thank you for your question. If you look closely you will see that the tile from the shower extends beyond the shower glass by 3" the remainder is a wood panel on the tub front. There have been no issues with water migration to the wood panel.

You would need to contact a plumbing specialist in your area, bring in the make and model of your existing tub and ask them to help you order these parts. Otherwise you would need to see if you can find a plating company who could replate these items. Good luck.

Bisque and beiges are the typical colors you will find in Crema Marfil and is what is in the tile in this bathroom. Remember you are looking at colors through your screen which distorts the real color, not to mention that this was shot by a professional photographer who uses artificial light and manipulates the photo and colors during processing. Best advice is to go to a tile store and look for something in the colors you want, don't get sidetracked looking for Crema Marfil per-say, just look for your desired color, or better yet, hire a designer to help you.

Well the average whirlpool tub is holding approx 600 lbs of water when filled, plus the human who sits inside, so there's quite a bit of stress on an acrylic tub. I do not know the average lifespan, but I would say a 21 yr old one might be due for replacement depending on how much it was used.
