The design of this refined mountain home is rooted in its natural surroundings. Boasting a color palette of subtle earthy grays and browns, the home is filled with natural textures balanced with sophisticated finishes and fixtures. The open floorplan ensures visibility throughout the home, preserving the fantastic views from all angles. Furnishings are of clean lines with comfortable, textured fabrics. Contemporary accents are paired with vintage and rustic accessories. Yes, the sinks are directly across from one another (one was for dishwashing and one for food prep). Yes, there are two dishwashers (one beside each sink). The refrigerator is directly behind the dishwasher/sink in the forefront of the photo.

We did different colors in some of the spaces to add variety and interest. However, we kept in mind that we wanted it to feel cohesive and flow well. In some rooms we want to accent/highlight different things that benefit from changing from a more neutral color that goes in the main spaces. Additionally, color theory teaches us a lot about what types of colors work best in certain rooms (whether it needs to reflect well on one’s complexion, or it is a color that will brighten up a dreary setting). Still, some of our clients wish to do the same color throughout. Either can work – it just comes down to personal preference and the goals of the project.

The cabinetry is maple. The main wall cabinets, island, and island table legs are painted in Sherwin Williams SW7514 Foothills in a satin finish. The tall cabinet in the corner and the island table top are stained a custom color. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we don't have a base color to provide. We worked with the cabinetry craftsman to create the color we wanted, as we wanted it to simply be a darker shade of the flooring.
