Caroline Lizarraga Decorative Artist

My wife and I hired Caroline's team to paint a mural in our living room and were extremely disappointed with the results, but equally disappointed with how Caroline handled the process. She assured us that there would be plenty of time to iterate on the design, that she's a professional and to trust her. And yet somehow, the mural that ended up on our walls is inconsistent (adjacent sections look like they were done in different styles), ugly (visitors have said the foliage looks like mold), and in one corner, there's a tree without any leaves. Yes, her team painted a dead tree in our living room. Suffice it to say that was not in the brief. She offered to come back and fix some of these mistakes, but would charge us for the process, and I can't stomach the idea of giving any more money to Caroline's firm. One good thing I can say about them is that the painting team is friendly and clearly skilled at the craft. But it didn't add up to a mural we're happy to have on our walls. As soon as we can find the time and budget to fix it, we'll be painting over the mural and going in a different direction :(

Caroline is a true artist and fabulous to work with. Working on a project with Caroline is as rewarding as it is easy. Everything she does is executed with care and true vision, so we make sure to collaborate whenever we can! Caroline understands the design intent and offers a wealth of knowledge and talent to the process. She is a joy to work with.

Caroline and her team are the trifecta of decorative artists...TALENTED, PROFESSIONAL, and GOOD PEOPLE. Pure delight to work with. I also partnered with Caroline for this year's Traditional Home Napa Valley Showhouse and she did the most gorgeous silver leaf treatment with a rustic twist. Lots of oohs and ahhs were heard. I highly recommend!

Just. Love. This. Artist. Caroline is amazing at what she does (unmatched), is a lovely human being, and is super fun, friendly, responsible, gorgeous, etc. to work with. I am a designer and would hire her on every job. Never disappoints. She did an AMAZING graphic painted floor for a showcase house we did in Piedmont. She is painting an awesome ceiling in a teenager's room, she is painting a stenciled "rug" in a dining room....she is a genius. I will trust no one else but Caroline and her team! And they do it for the passion. And they obsess when they should. They get it right. I could go on and on but just TRUST. She's the real deal.

She is a master at her craft and can create anything your imagination desires. She has always been a huge addition to any project we've worked on together. Caroline and I designed five rooms in my house. Ok, well . . . Caroline was the authority and creative director, but she always considered my input, showed incredible artistic insight, and was a pleasure to work with. My experience with her as a designer was nothing short of fascinating. At times I would introduce my half-thought ideas and she was able to craft them into beautifully substantive creations. When I wanted to put a wave on my wall she constructed the idea, sourced the printing and hired the wallpaper hangers, all to my satisfaction, and surprise over her talent and resources. Additionally, Caroline converted several of my walls into art - an expression that captivates visitors who come into my home. Her skill is matched only by the magic of her self.

To call Caroline an artist seems an understatement. She is more like Merlin or Midas, only what she touches often turns to silver leaf. I can't believe what she can do given a blank wall, canvas, etc. I show people pictures of her work and say, "That? You think that's silk, don't you?" or "No, it's not actually suede..." And people are ALWAYS amazed. Double takes all around. The textures she creates inspire the need to touch and feel, like luxurious fabrics, just to be sure what you see is what you think it is...and usually, it is not! I did not realize how modern and luxurious faux finishes could be. Caroline brings another dimension to walls and thus elevates any space she touches. She is versatile: creating hand-painted designs for a fantasy girls' playroom one day, and a modern metallic finish to revive a traditional fireplace another. While always on the cutting edge of design, her work is never trendy. The spaces she embellishes are ones you fall in love with and want to live with for a long time to come.

Caroline and her team are amazing at creating upscale and unique wall and furniture finishes. I am an Interior Designer, and have been working with Caroline for over 5 years, hiring her on most every project I take on. She has a great eye for color, and a fun and inviting personal style that translate into her work and her teams work ethic. Caroline stays on top of the trends, while also constantly broadening her repertoire with new ideas, finishes, textures, and color combinations. I can't say enough about her work, and her as a person - 5 stars!!
