We found Perennial Garden Consultants on Houzz. We loved Michele's use of color and the uniqueness of her style within the desert landscape. We met with Michele and discussed the challenges of our yard and how we wanted to work with them and not against them, and she did just that. The process was not fast as she took her time to understand our needs, brought us different design ideas, and made sure we were happy with the direction she was going. We were most appreciative of the consistent communication throughout the process and very excited about the final product. We are working on the infrastructure now and are planning to start planting in the Spring. I would highly suggest Perennial Garden Consultants!

Working with Michele was fantastic. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for my front yard - an English cottage garden inspiration using primarily native and pollinator friendly plants - but the options for execution were overwhelming. Michele helped identify which plants I liked vs. not and put together a plan that made the best use of how the sun hit different parts of my yard. Because I ended up delaying my install, some of the initial recommended plants were not available locally. She quickly helped me locate alternate sources for what was available, and alternative plants for the few that just couldn't be found anywhere. The deliverables quality and her communication is top notch and highly recommend her for anyone looking to update their garden.

This is the second time I've used Michele for my yard. This time to design a huge front yard that I couldn't wrap my head around to even know where to begin. It was a hodge podge of pine trees, palm trees planted too close to the house and ugly rocks. Once again I am so pleased with the design she came up with, giving the front of the house a cohesive look and making it a show piece. I love that she puts the plants and trees in shared folder so that I can see what she's thinking. Michele went over the reasoning behind what plant goes where and how they all fit into the design to ultimately give me the result I'm looking for. The communication was great, she always responded within a day. I have started planting and I can already see a huge difference. I can't wait for it to be done! I will definitely use Michele again for my next project. She knows her stuff and knows how to design. Thank you Michele for another fantastic design!!

Michelle is fabulous to work with. She has a deep understanding of the Las Vegas desert. She knows which plants are best for low water use, native, attract local birds, and how to pick plants so the garden blooms throughout the season and year. The design she created for our yard is beautiful. I highly recommend Michelle!

Michele was great to work with! She understood my objectives and delivered them perfectly. She has great design sense, and is very knowledgeable about plants, planting needs, watering, sunlight, etc. (which in Las Vegas is very challenging). I loved working with Michele from Perennial Garden Consultants! I have a high retaining wall/planter that gets direct sunlight in the Summer and I have had a hard time getting plants to live. In the past I have wasted money hirng landscape companies assuming they knew what they were doing when it came to planting the right plants in the right place. This time I used a bit of wisdom and hired Michelle to come out and advise me on what to put up in my heat blasted retaing wall/planter. I had a hodgepodge of a backyard and did not know where to even start. Michele helped me see the vision and transform my backyard to a paradise! I learned a lot during the process, which plants that would survive in the desert and also look colorful year around. She did a walkthrough at the end where we walked around the backyard and talked about the plants and where they would go and why. That was my favorite part as it made it so much easier to understand and see the whole picture. Michele truly takes into consideration the perspective of the plant and where it will thrive the most as well as coordinating the esthetics of the yard. I will definitely use her again for my front yard. The process takes awhile so plan ahead but the final product is extremely well thought out with schematics and a legend which makes it easy to follow.

I attempted to employ a known nursery to come up with a design and plan for my space. Whatever I said, they were going to do. Not good because they only wanted to sell me their services without really listening to what I needed and wanted. Michelle is the consummate professional. She arrives on time, is very knowledgeable and is very easy to work with. Her interpretation of my thoughts, as far as native plants and design, were spot on. I can’t wait to get started and the hummingbirds can’t wait either.

I have tried several times to find a landscape company that knows about plants specific to the Las Vegas area. I was thrilled when I met Michele with Perennial Garden Consultants. I wanted a more desert friendly , natural looking landscape. I gave her my vague ideas and she ran with the project. Michele was always willing to answer any questions, give me advice about plants, and do a little hand holding. The project involved a large back yard with two different areas and 2 garden beds beside the house. I love the designs and even more important for me, I love how they feel. Calm, peaceful, gorgeous. I really enjoyed working with Michele. She was very responsive and accessible throughout the project. After the initial consultation she provided an incredibly thorough proposal outlining every goal, idea and need I had mentioned. It was so helpful to see my vision reflected back as it clarified the priorities of the project. The design process was interactive at the conceptual phase. She shared pictures of plants and we reviewed the design over email and on the phone. She incorporated a cactus I was fond of and found a substitute for a tree I didn’t like. She created a beautiful design and provided all the documentation I needed to submit to my HOA and to hire a contractor for planting. I will definitely have her come out when we plant for any last minute adjustments. It was hard to find someone that was interested in creating a natural, layered landscape of native flowering plants instead of a hardscape. While we haven’t planted yet her sketches gave a good idea of what to expect. She made the process very easy and enjoyable and if I have to make HOA changes or have questions I would feel comfortable contacting her (in fact, I’d look forward to it). I would recommend Perennial for anyone interested in native, drought tolerant landscape design. Really beautiful work that I can’t wait to enjoy through all four seasons!

Michele is fantastic! She designed an entirely new landscape for our backyard, courtyard, and front yard and it looks amazing. She is definitely an expert on plants - what will grow where, water conditions, etc. And she also has this great creativity. She came up with a super cute way to incorporate a kids' play area into our design which was darling. She would deliver these beautiful color hand-drawn renderings of the designs that really made the design process easy as we could easily visualize the final product. She was a great listener and really worked with us through lots of revisions to the design. Highly recommended!

Have to admit that in my whole gardening life, I was totally stumped on how to create a lush entryway to my new/older home in Sun City, Las Vegas. My husband and I have created beautiful landscapes at many of our homes over the years. We have owned seven homes in the US and overseas. I did not want the succulents or the usual palm trees that are seen on the street here. I wanted something private, overgrown and unusual for my courtyard space as this home has been a true downsizing as well as a labor of love during the Covid pandemic. I think Michele understood this and helped me to create this, at least on paper, for now. I can see how it will grow over time, and how it will leave a lasting legacy to those who live in this wonderful house , long after I am gone. We wanted to work with Perennial Garden Consultants because, as first-time home owners, we are a bit clueless when it comes to landscaping. Our backyard has grass that has been neglected and causes our dog to break out in rashes (she's allergic). The yard needed to be redesigned to be more colorful, private, and easy to maintain. Michele was very attentive and addressed all of our concerns — from the comfort of our dog to accessibility concerns. The design she developed is beautiful and we can't wait to have it implemented!

Michele was great to work with. I wanted specific desert plants that would be great for pollinators, low water usage, have 4 season colors as well as provide some privacy from our neighbors. She worked our idea within our budget and delivered on everything we were hoping for. I'm a bit of detail oriented person and she was able to accommodate my specific details.

We were very impressed with Michele's landscape design for our front, back and side areas of our home. She was easy to talk to, easy to bounce opinions off. She was also the very first person to fully understand our style and to work and create something we can hopefully realize in our outdoor space. We hired Michele to do the landscape design for our backyard. We moved from a very green city and wanted to create a backyard oasis that would reflect our love of the outdoors while still being sustainable in the desert climate. Michele has completed her design and we have received approval from our HOA to implement it, so that feels great. We have just begun the process of doing the actual work of installment, so this review does not reflect a fully finished product. However, I'm very happy with the design that Michele did for us and know I would not have been able to come up with anything close to this myself. The back and forth of designing the backyard did take some time, a bit longer than I expected although we did make changes along the way. Michele's process is all done by hand instead of a computer program, which is also different than I expected, so changes are not easily made if they are requested out of process. Michele has also been helpful in providing us with some more specific answers we need for our project and budget. I look forward to completing our project and seeing her drawing come to life!

I was so impressed working with Michelle , after chatting a few minutes she totally understood what I was looking to do in my back yard. Even with the negatives ( limited space and sun exposure ) she came up with a beautiful plan I am very excited to start . Every plant she chose was a winner ! I found Michelle, Perennial Gardens, in August 2019 when I was trying to find a landscape artist for my courtyard. I told her I wanted something with a Wow factor because it was the entrance to my home. Michelle came to my house, asked what I was looking for, took pictures, and made several suggestions. She then prepared a landscape design that astonished me – it was truly spectacular! Most of the plants in the design I had never heard of, much less seen in any landscape anywhere, (I grew up in Las Vegas) and yet they are all acclimated to the desert climate here. They are gorgeous colors with a variety of textures. To add to my good fortune, Michelle installed her design. She was meticulous in preparing the soil, placing the plants correctly, and then ensuring the irrigation would meet each plant’s need. She also stuck with the plan we agreed on, opting to wait for the specific plants, rather than substituting other plants into the design. Michelle is a true landscape artist and incredibly knowledgeable about what will grow and flourish here. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a landscape design that is unique and exquisitely beautiful.

My landscape design has been completed and although it is not yet installed I am very excited about seeing it finalized. It is rare to find someone in the business of design who listens to all of your wants, needs and concerns and then incorporates them in the actual design. Michele did all of that and when she gave me the original proposal she even noted things I had forgotten I had mentioned. She is a great communicator and was available and responsive to all calls and emails. The use of the houzz website meant I could see plant recommendations and I could also provide her with things I liked that she could then possibly incorporate in the design. Her knowledge of plants and their mature size meant that I will not be over planting and then butchering the same growing plants later to keep them small enough to fit the area. This also means I will spend less money on plants because .. guess what... they grow ! If you need a landscape designer, I recommend Michele highly. I will try to update with photos when the project is completed.

Michele from Perennial Garden Consultants was able to take a kernel of an idea I had about a Moorish Garden based on a TV show episode and run with it in a unique and creative manner in creating my backyard landscape design plan. Her extensive knowledge of regional flora will also ensure that my design is sustainable once it has been planted and can endure our hot desert climate. Michele works closely with you to achieve your vision, and her professionalism, creativity and organization make the process easy and fun. The practical touches such as the inclusion of detailed planting instructions, and the separate list of plants provided will also make it easy for me to execute the plan. I would highly recommend her work if you are interested in dramatically transforming your home landscape for a fair and reasonable fee.

Michele worked with us help a refresh for our backyard. She came up with a great plan that incorporated our vision and yet was precise, well though out and affordable. She was meticulous with communication and keeping us in the loop with the various stages in the design process. On conclusion, she gave us an amazing design document that we allows us to proceed with confidence. I hired Perennial Garden Consultants (Michele Chambliss) to create a container garden on the patio of my rented home. She did a fantastic job, and actually came in a little under the budget we had to work with. She has a very artistic eye, and the combination of plants and colorful containers is perfect to create a green and pleasant little oasis that is visible from the living room when my blinds are open. Michele was able to guide us through the process and provide incite as we went along. Her knowledge of plant selection was impressive along with her wealth of experience in design she brings. We have a large yard and Michele was able to create different areas for us to enjoy. She was able to give us a design with lots of color and texture using plants that would thrive in Las Vegas. At the end, we had a design that we loved and can’t wait to begin construction.

When I decided to redo the landscaping throughout our property after the removal of some trees (due to various issues), I started my research on Houzz. I put together an ideabook of exteriors and plantings that I found interesting, but when it came to actually determining what would work best for my purposes I decided to bring in a professional. Next stop - Perennial Garden Conusultants. I found Michele and her company here on Houzz, and after taking a look at the reviews and photos, I contacted her about my project. She responded very quickly and requested we meet so she could get an idea of the scope of the project and what I wanted from the design. She measured the entire property and we discussed my desires - from replacement trees to plants that would draw pollinators back to my yard. It was all so smooth and easy! Once we agreed on terms, I invited her to my landscaping ideabook here on Houzz and she used that to create a couple more books through which we could share photos and ideas. She added photos, I added photos, and we commented on each of them - why would this plant work, pros and cons, etc. I'm the type who wants to be involved in a project so I'm not left with a bunch of questions at its conclusion. Michele was happy and enthusiastic about my input, and the entire experience was a pleasure. Throughout the project, Michele emailed me preliminary sketches for my review and input. Once we agreed on the sketches for the various areas of my property, she prepared final blueprints and provided multiple copies I could share with my landscaper and any other professionals. Michele was outstanding to work with from beginning to end. She was willing to allow me to be as involved as I wanted to be, answered emails and responded to Houzz comments quickly, and created a beautiful and workable design (per my regular landscaper) that will give our local birds, bees, and butterflies plenty to enjoy, Her knowledge of landscape design and the types of plants that work in our desert area were exactly what I wanted/needed. I had the goal, and Michele/Perennial Garden Consultants provided the blueprint to get me there.
