what color to have my mantel in my living room

Hello

I live in an open concept home, I have dark hardwood floors and the kitchen cabinets and Island is also dark wood. I am having a propane fireplace installed. Just wondering what I should do with the mantel. Should I have it the same color as my kitchen cabinets, or should I have it the same as my trim (cloud white). The living area is very small.

Go with dark stained wood to match your cabinets and island. Dark stained wood adds so much warmth, charm and personality to a home.
