Kitchen Redesign

South Cypress
The old space was lacking in storage space, and it limited the flow of conversation between the living room and kitchen. You can see the complete renovation story and product details on our blog http://renovation1500.com/orange-park-kitchen-remodel/

I think the white appliances look good with the brown/black cabinetry. I also admire people who don't get rid of good appliances. The new floor really makes a huge difference, doesn't it? This seems like a huge improvement without having redone the entire layout, etc. Very smart, IMO.

Nice! Love the last picture on your website that really shows the differnences. I like that you kept the appliances, obviously they are in good shape so why toss them out!

I think it looks great, and the white appliances work well in this space; although I am surprised they didn't choose a white vent vs. the stainless. I do not understand the compulsion people seem to have about stainless steel appliances, there are other choices......

I like white appliances! Nice to see people choose what they like not just follow what others say is cool. Stainless is nice but shows fingerprints and not everyone's favorite!
    You did nice job!

White appliances aren't for everyone, but they give an interesting contrast to the dark cabinets! A new floor makes a HUGE difference!

LOVE that I can't see a microwave! I hate them (purely for aesthetic reasons) and urge more people to get rid of them!

this is a great job. Stainless is a pain in the neck. Scratches, smudges, yuk. Too much work. Thanks for the nerve to use white. Bet you never thought you get so many comments on white appliances.

It looks nice. But, correct me if I'm wrong, it looks like not too much cabinet space was added.

The renovation is so beautifully modern that the style of the appliances - not the color for the white is a nice 'pop'- look dated. And as someone who uses stainless steel often, there are many companies which produce stainless steel appliances that have smudge proof surfaces. I am surprised to not see a backsplash (a small one) behind the open sink.

diyer59: A significant amount of cabinet space was added under the new addition to the counter/bar area! also, the new cabinets are much larger than the old ones!

Hi There -Florida neighbor here (Deltona) - how much clearance is there between the bench chairs at the countertop and a wall? I have a similar gap between the fridge and the stove (garage door) and I want more counter space ( I'm an avid baker/cook) so i'm challenges with wanting an island - the extended counter might work. Thank.

All these comments about getting rid of the white appliances purely for aesthetic reasons is making me crazy. Why toss perfectly good stuff? And spend unnecessary money? So wasteful! UGH!

Not sure I understand removing the backsplash along the back of the sink. Now, every dirty dish and other kitchen Uglies-but-Necessities can be seen from family room.

You were so right to go counter height/ no back splash. Looks fabulous. Yes it makes us a little neater but getting that look and additional counter for family room side is well worth it. Very upscale look!
