Ironhaus.com makes fireplace surrounds like this one. They made ours and we love it.

My fireplace is stone but the upper is simple drywall. I would somehow like to wrap the upper with something that looks like this. Does anyone have an idea?

If you want a metal, start talking to metal fabricators and show them the picture. If they don't do it, they will know someone who does. You obtain that finish with assorted acids and stains and it isn't hard if you know hat you are doing. What you are looking at is just sheet metal with metal banding and rivets all torched and acid washed. It can be done off site and installed over your drywall quickly and easily. I've done several in copper like this and I never get tired of all the colors in the metal and the overall look is truly timeless.
