    The metal was a 9 inch "C" channel from the local metal supply. They actually called it a stair stringer shape. the rest of the steel was 1 1/2" angle - all raw and unfinished. Plans and details and a sketchup model are for sale for a standard straight run stair of this sort on my website.

    The steel parts were all left natural - we love the patina of raw steel

    How has the metal worn over time? Any rust? I've never heard of using wax. Do have any more info on this?

    It still looks very much the same. There is no finish on the metal. It's in a new home and humidity levels are not high.

    Hello, can you tell us the spec on the I-beam? what is the height of the I-beam for example? Thanks.
