It only takes some art work, bright chairs, lighting, vases, curtains, not saying you need the whole lot, just start off with a few things and see how it looks. I think your kitchen is lovely, get a set of three or more bright canvases to hang on your wall, you could probably paint them yourself, or cover canvas in beautiful fabric or wallpaper. You will be surprised

I think your idea of painting the walls white is a good one! It will make the beautiful moldings and cabinets you have stand out more. I would keep the wood work on the wall grey! The white will brighten things up and compliment your beautiful cabinetry/woodwork:)

Another thought would be to add raised panels below the molding that's on the wall and paint that grey also. A similar type of molding like you have on your cabinets.

Might paint walls in white and leave wood work in grey. Also changing the lights to the LED retrofit and that is bringing more light to the room!
