colour for living room

low ceiling country living room North facing. I need to keep most of what is in the room, dark sofas, pink red rug. Would like to use colour not white or cream.

If you are daring, I suggest using the deepest wine color found in your rug and having the fireplace, bookcase, and all trim a pristine white. The leather sofa and wood tables should work well. Since the room faces north, it will feel warm in winter. By the way, love the pup!

We were thinking some sort of pink and your comment has helped us to think more seriously about a deeper version.
