Hi there,

The desk was an inexpensive, very plain (boring) metal one with a glass top from a local furniture store. It was gray before.

I used masking tape to tape the entire back side of it. My daughter and I drew a Mehndi (Indian Bridal tatoo) design to match her bedroom walls that we hand-painted with the same design (below is a picture of walls). We used an X-acto knife and cut out around the design and spray painted the entire desk brown. We then removed the tape and the design was left. I recently sold it on Craigslist.

Oh my... wish I could paint like that! Beautiful desk and very creative. For those who are not "artistic" with a paint brush, here is an idea that I am going to try: Paint the desk and use vinyl wall decals for the design. They come in all kinds of patterns and colors!
