There are metallic spray paints, I think they're made by Rustoleum, you could look into those.

I am going to try it on the cabinet brass handles first to see how it looks (they're a little cheaper to replace if need be) thanks for the info. Maybe someone out there can comment pro / con spray painting brass faucets?

I'm getting ready to paint my brass shower door enclosure and am looking at the auto parts store for polished chrome spray paint sold for chrome bumpers. I sure hope it works!
