Need Hood Solution for Kitchen Remodel

Gutting the kitchen and tearing out a wall to build new open concept kitchen/great room with island. It'll be "beachy" look (floors are Mannington Antigua Mercado Oak silver color with off white cabinets and Cambria Quartz tops in either Ella or Britannica; both Cararra Marble look). Appliances already bought are stainless GE Profile fridge and built-in wall oven/microwave combo and Bosch dishwasher. Cooktop is a GE Monogram 36 inch induction cooktop.

Now for the dilemma. We decided to do ductwork to the roof level to replace the existing "recirculating" hood. Tired of HVAC kicking on every time we turn on the gas cooktop due to all the added heat load in the kitchen and also tired of food smells staying in the house all day. We went with induction to avoid $10K in make-up air cost that would go a new gas cooktop and will also get rid of added heat load from open flame in gas.

Problem is picking out an affordable solution for the hood. Wife wants something to match the floor (reclaimed wood look) in a wrap around custom. Cabinet company advised this is expensive and has to be installed in several different stages. Husband wants a stainless "off the shelf" GE Profile hood (which can be had for around $700 and installed without going through the different stages of installation). The husband is not totally against the reclaimed wood look but trying to keep the cost low at the same time. Husband also is more "functionally oriented" than worrying about the hood matching the floor. Thoughts are if it matches the other stainless appliances this should be OK.

All suggestions are appreciated!
