How did you get the wood weathered look on the concrete walls? Thanks !

The wood look was achieved by actually attaching rough cut 2x4's to our concrete forms- (but you can actually buy a form liner that will have this same pattern- it is more expensive to do it that way especially if it is a one time use...but the forms are at www.formliners.com

Rough Cut 2x4's works great- and turns out nice as you can see.

Have you ever tried this with rough cut cedar? I have been having problems with bug holes in the face after curing. Does using pine of fir help to alleviate this problem?

We had a few bug holes- but nothing major. I don't think pine or fir would make a difference- there are forms you can buy that have the wood look without having to cut wood...
