Aspen country ledgestone and it is laid with a mortar joint in this picture. It can be laid tight together (drystack) as well.

is the mortar tinted? Or just standard mortar? Do you recommend a specific color of mortar for Chardonnay

We don't recommend using mortar dye because if each batch of mortar isn't mixed exactly the same way, the mortar joints will dry different colors. We normally use Quickrete CSC-4 mortar, which is gray and that is what we'd recommend! Thanks!
