DIY - Tiled Leaning Mirror
My client needed a focal point on the landing of her SF flat. Knowing the client and her boyfriend were quite handy and willing to take on some 'do-it-yourself' projects, I proposed applying a mosaic tile to really dress up the mirror to dress it up a bit. Using 1-foot square mosaic tile sheets purchased from a local tile store, the client and her boyfriend got to work tiling and grouting the frame of the mirror. (Home Depot sells similar tiles in varied colors for under $10 per square foot!) With a little time and effort, they transformed the $129 IKEA mirror in to this beauty that is easily worth well over $1300! Now when the homeowner or guests ascend the stairs to the second story condo, the first thing you see at the top is this fabulous mirror!
Before. IKEA's Mongstad mirror is my go to when I need a large leaning mirror that will make an impact. However, my client's landing needed something a little more dazzling.
