Principles of Design- Hunter Harper
Gradation and Repitition Design: This room displays gradation becasue the book shelves differ in size. Not only do they differ in size, but the pattern bookshelves go from smaller to bigger. The biggest, longest book self is at the top, closer to the ceiling, and the smallest, shortest bookshelf is closest to the floor. This room also displays repitition many times becasue of the pattern in the floor boards and ottoman. The floorboards show the same vertical line many times, as well as the same sqiggles in the ottoman.
Proportion Design: This room diplays proportion because it seems even throughout the room. This room varies in color, funiture layout, and action. Nothing in this room is too big or too small. For example, the couch and the coffee table are in proportion because the table fits to the size of the couch.
Asymetrical Design: This room is asymetrical because furniure, colors and light are not the same if you were to cut the picture in half. It is still balanced because the use of light, color and furiture work together. For example, on the right side there is a giant white couch, it balanced out with the left side because there are 2 dark brown chairs. Your eyes dont automatically look at one side more than the other.
Symetrical Design: This room is symetrical becasue if you were to draw a line through the middle of the picture, the funiture layout, couches, pillows and windows would be the same. Even though there is only one coffee table and firseplace, they are both centalized still making it symetrical because they meet in the middle.
Unity Design: This room displays unity through it's color scheme. This monochromatic color scheme makes the room come together. The whole room uses a blue-green hue in its wall color, bedspread, art work, chairs, and pillows.
